Re: Tier 2 ILR question

Thanks for the prompt response Vinny! I also need clarification on child’s route to naturalisation, 1. would the child need ILR at all or can simply get naturalised after the parent gets ILR? (Child was not born in UK) 2. If the child does need ILR, does this mean we have to wait 5 years before natu...

TimBC what a news! Congrats!

Your approval has given me much needed hope - it's a shame what a missing certificate can do.
Hopefully we are not that far behind!

Re: Reconsideration application timeline

No update on my side - it seems people are getting faster response on initial applications. I see a lot of approvals from Jan 16 timeline, however no progress on reconsiderations from last year.

Re: Reconsideration application timeline

Nothing yet Rassel - thanks for starting a thread on reconsiderations. I was told a month ago that a case worker was actively looking into my case in February.
Makes me wonder if a fresh application would have taken this long?

Re: Application refused. Reconsideration taking too long

Hi Subzero, there is no formal way - but as Rassel suggested, after 6 months you can try getting your MP involved. I am in the same boat and have been waiting since July 2015, my application was refused on the grounds of no communication when they tried to contact me - which is not true. I wrote to ...

hi, Update on my case: I received a letter from the Home Office stating that my case is still in progress and decision will be taken in due course. Re: Payment through Natwest Debit Card

Hi, just to add my 2 cents: I have been with Natwest for well over 6 years. During my extension for Tier1, the bank blocked the transaction and I received a letter from the home office requesting alternate method of payment. On contacting my bank I was informed they usually put an upper limit for ne...

Re: Unsuccessful Naturalisation (AN) applications

Hello It's disappointing that you have to prove residency again after ILR - anyways, along with BRP (ILR) you may use the council tax statements to prove he was a resident in the gap year. Update on my application: Raised it with MP again after writing a letter to the home office and got a call from...

Thanks for the info CR001

Just FYI - I have held residence visa at the same time when I was on tier 1, that was for UK and UAE. Maybe it's different for Tier2 then, I'll let her know.

Re: Naturalization refused due to no fault of my own

Hi, I have been waiting since Feb 2015 - Original application date :( Anyways to answer your query - Yes £80 has been deducted from my account, that is only acknowledgement you'll ever get from the Home Office for your reconsideration. I'll put the travel plans on hold until this is resolved. Regards

Re: Naturalization refused due to no fault of my own

Hi kasiaiscool, Sorry to hear about your situation - I am in a similar boat (kind-of). I believe you should be OK as long as you can give them a solid reason for not responding in time, which in your case is true. As mentioned zahmed05, there are no timelines for reconsideration - I have only come a...

Re: Unsuccessful Naturalisation Application.

Hi,

FYI - home office does not send any sort of acknowledgement for reconsideration applications (First hand experience)

The only confirmation you'll ever get is when £80 are taken from your account.

Re: experts plz advice urgent

hi, as Casa suggested - it will be wise to obtain a credit report from agencies before applying for naturalisation. Please note that in some cases the debt collectors might update records in case of unclear debts which refreshes the 6 year date on the file. Being accepted for a bank account does not...
