Hi Greenie,

Thanks - I will be applying my ILR on the basis of completing my 5 years working in UK. I came in as HSMP (post Dec 2006) and then extended to Tier 1 (G) but had to go for a second extension as I arrived late in UK.
Can anyone suggest if we need two copies of all the proofs - one for father and one for mother when both are applying for visa at the same time?
If its a combined application, you need to provide only one set of docs.

For parents you need to fill VAF1B as they will be applying as a Family visitor. The docs which I submitted were:-

Invite Letter
Tenancy Agreement
Bank Staments (last 6 months)
Pay Slips (last 6 months)

You will be fine in that case, don't worry. As far as it is coming as gross salary in your pay slip and into your bank account, you can use them to claim as your earnings.

@Sapphire -- You mentioned that 2.5K "appear below your basic salary" in your pay slip. Is that included in the gross figure on your salary slip? Also, how do you recieve them? In your bank account along with your salary or through some other means?

Jafar,

Don't wait for covering letter until n unless you really have something you would like to mention which you anyway can explain to them as you are going in person. Believe me the case workers don't even look at it, I am telling you this from the experience of few of my friends.

Thanks Tomcat. So it looks like its only the Croydon HO takes a lot of time (almost a whole day) while rest of the HOs gives you visa in just 2-3 hours (provided all the docs are in proper place). I know guys who applied from Birmingham and Glasgow HOs (and now Sheffield) and got their visa stamped ...
