Re: British Passport application processing timelines (only)

First and foremost, I would like to thank every single person that was part of my journey. It was a long and arduous one to say the least. You have all offered invaluable advice that even the best paid solicitors weren't privy to. It has now finally come to an end :D Passport timeline as follows: Ty...

Re: Naturalisation application process questions

Your life in the UK test is valid and yes you can use the same certificate. Once you submit your citizenship application, making sure that you have satisfied the residence requirements in the 12 months prior to application & in the 3/5 year period - then Yes you can go ahead and travel. Do keep in m...

Re: Absences fom UK

Hi secret.simon

I know that I can apply, get a refusal and then reapply again later. But that would be silly, a waste of time and money. I would rather wait and apply when everything is in order to avoid any unnecessary delays / refusals.

Thank you for your advice and support.

Re: Absences fom UK

Hi Cullinan, Many thanks for your prompt response. I have indeed seen and read the guidance you sent across, that is how I learned that there was a discretion clause for absences between 101-180 days. The discretion clause stipulates that I have to demonstrate strong links with the UK alongside the ...

Absences fom UK

Hi Gurus, It has been a while since i've posted on here here. I am in the final stages -fingers crossed. I am writing re the absences from the UK - I satisfy the criteria for the 5 year period. But unfortunately I have spent 111 days out in the last 12 months. Is it worth submitting an application a...

Re: T1 Entrepreneur 50k ILR

Probably what they meant was that you can count the waiting period only if the date of extension and ILR date is less than 1 year apart but can only go back for 1 year from the date of application so that might include few months of waiting period in a particular case But why would the date of the ...

Re: T1 Entrepreneur 50k ILR

Thanks for your reply guys, I guess it is open for interpretation in this case.

But I have a feeling like you said in an earlier post that it will be 12 / 24 months after the BRP was issued. Whoch means that I can't apply before this time next year anyway

Re: Extension Approved 1 month ago, but IHS not refunded yet, What to do?

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I got my refund 2.5 months after my approval. I didn't chase the HO or anything for it. Might speed up the process if you chase them. Not sure Dear Members, My extension has been approved 1 month ago but I didn't get any IHS refund yet. I am not sure whats the rea...

Re: Sample letter to MP to expedite the application

Sadly, you are right. I ti s quite difficult if any inquiry whether through and MP makes any difference. As I've said many times before the HO marches to the beat of their own drum. Looking at the cases people shared on this forum, there seems to be no relationship between MP's contact and decision ...

Re: Sample letter to MP to expedite the application

You are right it is quite difficult to pinpoint whether or not a letter to an MP has made any difference. I speak from my experience, when I say that when I contacted my MP I did get my approval, then again it could be a complete coincidence. N.B. I tried to send you a private message and I couldn't...

Re: Sample letter to MP to expedite the application

They will chase home office and get back to you with...

@mig2015 - thanks for the congratulations. Also re my question, you can see Zimba88's response above. Hi Do you mean, as you initially entered the route pre-April 2014, now you may still benefit from those pre April 2014 job creation rules? Also, congratulations on your success with extension applic...

Re: Employment requirements after extension

@zimba88 thank you for clearing that up - and here I thought I had caught a break of sorts. Oh well. You ENTERED the route in Dec 2013, so you are covered under transitional arrangements. That line simply means you can for example hire 4 people for 6 months and therefore do not need to create a posi...

Employment requirements after extension

Dearest Gurus and Senior members, I know this topic has been discussed before, but I am a little lost. I just read the guidance for T1 Entrepreneur settlement (ILR) and on page 59 point 3, second paragraph it says: "The jobs must have existed for at least 12 months during your most recent grant of l...

You can also write your MP to chase the home office for an update on your application. Most MP's won't do anything until you have been waiting for 6 months or longer. But it is worth a shot.
