Re: Name change after naturalisaion

Partly, but bit more complicated then just married name. Few years after getting married, I changed my own surname by deed poll. This means the surname my wife will use does not match the marriage certificate. Even so, I realise I can still change surname easily enough due to marriage but to further...

Name change after naturalisaion

Hi, wife just got BC and will be applying for 1st british passport soon. To keep things simple, we will use the same name that we have used for all previous visa/citizenship applications. At some point in the future though, i want to change her name by deed poll and get a replacement passport with t...

Re: UKVCAS option

Sounds scary, actually just remembered I did do a FLR application which dragged and after 8 months with no reply I wrote a stern letter to HO threatening legal action and suddenly had my application granted 2 weeks later!

Re: UKVCAS option

That's great thanks for clearing that up.

My circumstances are very straightforward so all of my applications have been granted quickly so hopefully be the same for this.

Re: UKVCAS option

Thank you for the fast response, I understand it's a nationality application and not a visa one, however I thought there would be a similar option with regards to the process like the ILR application. So basically I can still choose the new service which ONLY means I don't have to post the documents...

UKVCAS option

Hi, just got my wifes ILR so now applying for naturalisation. Have got to the bit where it asks me to select which service I want out of: - New service - Existing service I want the new service so I can go to a UKVCAS centre and get a quick decision like I did with the ILR application however if I s...

Re: Form SET(M) - recently became a director?

If you have no shares and no dividends then your directorship is pretty much irrelevant.

Therefore your employment status would simply be PAYE and you would just use your payslips as normal.

Re: Home details evidence

Pleasant update - received an email this morning from HO to confirm the application was successful. I went for the UKVCAS appointment on Fri so very quick service. For reference, in case it helps anyone in the future: - I used old English test certificate from 2014 with no SELT reference, on the bas...

Re: Home details evidence

Thanks. Had UKVCAS appointment today. The advisor took scans of passports and residence permit but didn't check a single one of my other documents! She confirmed the application has been submitted however when I log on to UKVCAS website it still allows me to upload files and also remove files that h...

Re: Home details evidence

Thank you again. I have my appointment at a UKVCAS centre next week. One final question which I still can't make my mind on. My wife has a B1.1 certificate CEFR from Trinity College London, issued in 2014. I have used this for my last 2 successful FLR M applications, most recent one being about 2 ye...

Re: Home details evidence

That's great thanks, just what I thought. One more question regarding employer declaration. Both my wife and myself are employed by my limited company, of which I am a director. This means any declaration would have to be written by me. Is there any point in providing a declaration written by me to ...

Home details evidence

Hi, In the Home Details section, the form asks if you rent or own your home. We live with parents. The form says: You only need to provide this evidence if you are responsible for some housing costs such as rent, mortgage or council tax. I cannot continue without ticking the boxes to confirm I will ...

Re: Questions about net income and other stuff

Another question!

Wife has the required B1.1 level from trinity college but it was done in 2014 so doesn't have the unique ref number. Does she have to redo the test or is this still valid and if so, what do i put on the box where it asks for ref number?

Re: Questions about net income and other stuff

Sorry another question which i thought i'd ask on here instead of starting another topic. I stopped claiming tax credits 6 months ago and by the time this ILR application is made, i will stop claiming child benefit (due to my salary being higher). I don't claim any other benefits so do i select no o...

Re: Questions about net income and other stuff

The question does definetly ask for net salary. What is more confusing is that you have to first select how frequently you get paid, and then it asks for net salary so it makes it sound like net salary for that pediod (monthly for example). What I don’t understand is that if I get dividends, where d...

Re: Questions about net income and other stuff

But anyway I guess it is what it is and we have to fill it in. I still can’t understand the employment part for partner. As mentioned, I am a director and there is nowhere to enter additional income. Also, it asks for a letter from the employer confirming the job - how do I do this because I AM the ...

Re: Questions about net income and other stuff

I sort of get your point but this is about the partner. Surely the form should recognise the fact that I’ve said the partner (me) is a british citizen by birth, so then the question about how long I’ve lived here is not relevant is it? Or perhaps there should be an option that says “since birth” lik...

Re: Questions about net income and other stuff

What a ridiculous form:

What is your partner's basis for living in the UK? BRITISH CITIZEN

How long have they had British citizenship? SINCE BIRTH

Then a few questions later....

How long has your partner lived in the UK? I ALREADY ANSWERED THAT PREVIOUSLY, SINCE BIRTH!!!

Re: Questions about net income and other stuff

Q3: Do you have any family in your country of birth, nationality or any other country where you have lived for more than 5 years? To me, this sounds like they are only asking about country of birth or nationality and any other country APART from the UK. Am i correct in saying this? It sounds like th...

Questions about net income and other stuff

Hi all, i've used this forum many times for answers to questions and usually, i have always found the answer but can't this time. Re: Llr from 2008

Applicants for ILR can clear either the "Life in the UK test" or complete an ESOL course with citizenship material. The requirements are listed here . Has your wife tried the latest Life in the UK test? They are mainly a test on British history, which is not too challenging. re the esol course, my ...

Hi, just need some help as there is so much info that I'm getting confused. I'm a British citizen by birth, wife is from India and came in 2008. Since then I have been renewing llr visa every 2 years as she has not been able to pass the life UK test. It is just my luck that I only found out that she...

Re: VERY URGENT ISSUE Faulty Indian Passport

OK AN UPDATE: Went to german embassy, the problem was the laminate on the pages of indian passport that had come off, went to indian embassy, they quickly re-laminated it, back to german embassy where they were happy with it and stamped the visa, so issue sorted! however, we've just realised we don'...
