Re: Other naturalisation

That is what the recent court case was all about. The upshot is you can be out of the Country for 6 weeks in the year prior to your application date. The minister does have the authority to allow for periods longer than 6 weeks under special circumstances (working away) but best to keep it under 6 w...

Re: Next citizenship ceremonies will be in Spring 2020

I applied early Jan '19
Approved Nov '19 but not invited to Dec.

Received my invite today for 2nd March, 3pm.

I don't see many confirmations for 3rd so more invites are obviously yet to be posted or en-route so there is still hope for all those still waiting.

Sorry could tell me if all the bank can do bank draft or?
I went to my own branch and it was deducted from my account (via my debut card). You could try any bank to see.

Remember there is a fee payable to get one also.

Re: Citizenship Passport Question

Sometimes they keep hold of it for some weeks.
They will send your passport back to you though if you request it. They may however request that you send it back to them when they send it back to you or at a later stage.

Mine was sent back to me in registered post if I remember correctly.

Re: Next citizenship ceremonies will be in Spring 2020

If it's the same as me which is most likely (UK citizen), you just send photos and payment only. Am I right in thinking there's no need to get the photos signed by a solicitor at the approval stage? You just need to write your application reference on the back of each. Solicitor/notary not required.

Great. Such relief ! So basically this letter is like an approval letter?
Yes although you won't be a citizen until you have been to the ceremony.

The next letter you will receive is the ceremony invitation.

Hi,

Does anyone know what NI residents send along with photos and payment instead of GNIB Card?
Thanks

Double sided printing. The date is on the other side of the page. (It was for me anyway)

Re: Address change after application

I didn't realise the requirements have changed.

One theoretical question though.. If you move house you may not necessarily receive a utility bill for 2 months so what could you do in that situation?

Re: Address change after application

I moved a few months after my application. I just sent them an email advising new address and requested that they confirm by email that it had been updated. 2 days later I got the confirmation. I didn't need to provide any further evidence as what was already provided in my initial application was s...

Re: Next citizenship ceremonies will be in Spring 2020

This is not quite accurate. The Dail has been dissolved which technically means there are currently no ministers. There is a clause in the constitution which essentially allows ministers a 'caretaker' role for any urgent business that needs to take place prior to the formation of the next governmen...

Re: Next citizenship ceremonies will be in Spring 2020

Re: Next citizenship ceremonies will be in Spring 2020

Can anyone who recently received their approval and request for €950 tell us if there was a deadline to send it within the letter? When I received mine in late November it said I had to submit within 2 weeks "to be considered for the next ceremony". (I did but still didn't get invited to December). ...

Whether they can afford it financially is a question for the poster to determine themself. To answer the question "No. In general students w...

I'm sure this will be either overturned or new legislation will be brought in.

Unfortunately one thing for sure is all applications will be delayed until sorted.
