British passport query

Hiya Guys,

Just a quick query - Can I use online passport service for me and wife and then send both the printed forms and all docs in a single envelope?

Might come up as a stupid question but couldn't find any info anywhere.

Re: Form AN and BRP Card

Does that mean that the home office returns your BRP with in a specific period if you tick the option: - I confirm that if granted British citizenship I must return the BRP to the Home Office within 5 days of receiving the grant of citizenship and if I fail to do so I may receive a financial penalty...

Form AN and BRP Card

Hi, Just wish to clarify, do we still need to send the BRP card with the application keeping in mind the new form has a specific question about the BRP. I know the BRP has to be sent once the application has been approved but I do not wish to loose my BRP for the entire processing time of 5-6 months...

Fee Query

Just a quick query if anybody can help.

Going through the fee leaflet it states Form AN fee as £1005, does this includes the ceremony fee or do we have to pay £1085 including the £80 ceremony fee with Form AN.

Sorry if it has been answered before.

Good Character Checks??

Has any forum gurus have any ideas that what level of checks or system is used by UKBA to check the criminal convictions? Is it kind of DBS or enhanced DBS? I read it in one of the caseworker guidelines once that it is an internal system where they just "press a button" and it flags anything untowar...

Naturalisation and Passport Pilot Scheme

Hi, I got to know about the new pilot where the passport is applied alongside the naturalisation form in the NCS. As far as I know 2 councils are doing this pilot as of now. I tried calling both the councils for a complete list of all the councils involved in this pilot but they had no idea. Surpris...

Re: Is FPN a civil penalty or a criminal convictions?

Doesn't matter civil or criminal in terms of application as you got to mention both now. "3.1 – 3.2 You must give details of all criminal convictions both within and outside the United Kingdom. These include road traffic offences. Fixed penalty notices (such as speeding or parking tickets) must be d...

Thank you for the literal definition of "numerous" Casa. You and I both know it that I wasn't looking for it   Further, Noajthan mate, I had a look at all the published threads but I am specifically looking for a citizenship application success where the guy/gal had more than one FPN or ...

Fixed Penalty and Parking Charge Notices

Hi Sorry, if this has been discussed before but i personally couldn't find any recent discussion specific to my situation. I have read the guidelines about the good character (https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/406368/Chapter_18_Annex_D_v02.pdf) and also the fo...

The right time to apply for Naturalisation

Hi Guys, I have searched the forum for couple of pages but couldn't find the right information. My wife has received her ILR (thru PEO) this week and I am due to apply for my ILR in post. However, going through the citizenship rules I am a bit worried now. Can somebody please clarify: If I apply my ...

PIO Card Validity - Minor

Hi, Can anybody please clarify about the PIO card validity for minors. The rule says that PIO card is only valid till the passport expires. So the question is - once you pay the full fee for a minor's PIO which is £112, do you need to pay the same fees again after 3 years (since infants passport is ...

Re: ILR Success at Liverpool PEO 21/03/14

Hi All, I am glad to share my experience at Liverpool PEO for my ILR application for myself and my wife. So just to keep simple, I won’t be writing the details from security checks as there are many posts about this, applied as salaried employee and reached PEO at 9:30 for 10:00 appointment everyth...

Re: ILR continuous residence and 90 day concession

Hi Dhyeya, As per some recent posts here, people have successfully got their ILR with an unexplained absence. They were simply not asked the proof as there absence was less than 180 days. However, the Set O form and the guidelines clearly say that there has to be a valid reason for your absence. You...

Re: ILR continuous residence and 90 day concession

Thanks for the reply MindtheGap. It seems the guidelines have become really ambiguous now. On one hand they are saying it is okay to have short breaks on non working days as you copied above and on the other hand there is this worrying paragraph: "Absences must be connected to the applicant’s sponso...

Re: ILR Absence - New Rules

Hiya S,

Thanks for the reply.

I have also read multiple experiences where people were not asked for any kind of absence proofs but all those experiences are pre 2014. Don't know if anybody has applied for ILR lately based on these new guidelines :|
