Re: Travel to India with British passport and e-visa whilst OCI is in process

Applied for Renunciation certificate on Nov 14th (VFS Goswell). Renunciation certificate is a new step introduced from this September. This is needed before OCI application. I will explain the process and my experience in a separate thread. Renunciation certificate take up to 8 weeks but we can app...

Re: India in RED LIST ( Skilled worked Visa )

Can someone please explain what it means 'anyone with residence rights in the UK' for those returning from a RED LIST country'? My wife has a PBS Dependent Leave to Remain Residence Permit. Will she be allowed in?

Thanks.

Re: PBS dependent extension, partner on ILR

Yes, I paid the surcharge directly on the IHS website. The application went through fine and my wife has received her new BRP with visa extension without any issues.
My view is that as long as HM Visa & Immigration receives the correct amount, they dont fuss over how it was paid.

Re: OCI application for minor, wife's UK visa about to expire

Hi,

Just wanted to know, in case OCI card gets delayed, can I get a tourist e-visa (1 year) for my son? Will the fact that he has made an application for OCI make him ineligible to apply for a evisa?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Tier 2 dependent visa extension

Hi, Just wanted to clarify a point mentioned earlier in this thread. We completed the online application for visa extension before the expiry of current visa. However the appointment date for submission of documents is a week after the expiry of the visa (we could not get one sooner). Will this be a...

Re: PBS dependent extension, partner on ILR

Thanks CR001. You are right, 3 years is the minimum time period. I was partly misled by somone I spoke at Visa and Immigration call centre who said I may be able to pay for just one year. But a second call clarified that is not possible. Also, I found another way to make sure you pay the right amoun...

Re: PBS dependent extension, partner on ILR

Thanks CR001.

In that case is it possible for me to put October 2020 and pay NHS surcharge only for 1 year? My wife will qualify for ILR in 8 months time.

Re: PBS dependent extension, partner on ILR

Hi, I am about to complete my application for my wife's PBS dependent visa extension (I have ILR acquired through 5 year Tier-2 route). While trying to pay the IHS surcharge, the website is asking for the visa expiry date of the main applicant that my wife is joining(me). My question is do I provide...

Re: OCI application for minor, wife's UK visa about to expire

Thank you very much for the prompt response cfdman.

I have one other Q - is it necessary to get my sons' UK birth certificate apostlled for the OCI application? I read somewhere that they dont insist on this.

Thanks.

OCI application for minor, wife's UK visa about to expire

Hi, I am about to apply for an OCI card for my 4 month old son. I have a few questions for those in the know- 1. I have ILR while my wife is about to renew her tier-2 dependent visa (she does not qualify for ILR yet). So when I make the OCI application for my son, my wife's UK visa shows as expiring...

Thank you for the clarification.
Is there a chance of claiming back refund of the NHS surcharge for the unused years after my wife gets her ILR?

PBS dependent extension, partner on ILR

Hi, Apologies if this Q has been asked already, I just didnt find any discussion on this. I received my ILR in Nov 2018 (after 5 years on Tier-2 general sponsored). My wife's dependent visa expires at end of Oct 2019 and we plan to apply for her extension within the next week. I have a couple of que...

Tier-2 PBS dependent extension- online application date vs biometrics date main applicant on ILR

Hi, I got my ILR in November 2018 through 5year employer sponsorship route. My wife is currently on the Tier-2 PBS dependent visa which expires in October 2019 and needs to be extended. I have a couple of questions as listed below. 1. What is the earliest I can apply for my wife's extension? Is it 2...

Re: ILR Super Priority - decision times upto 6 months?

Hi all, Just to close the loop on this one - my application was approved and I received my BRP card today. My appointment was the premium lounge in London on Nov-19th. The premium lounge, which although comfortable, is probably not worth the £200 that I paid ( I wanted a decision this week which is ...

Re: UKVI Digital Changes, No PEO/PSCs from October 2018?

@loupiol - thanks for all the info you provided. Very useful for us who are in line to apply next. My suspicion is that when they say they make a decision within 24 hours, they do not promise to let the applicant know the outcome right away. So like with postal applications, you may know only once y...

Re: ILR Super Priority - decision times upto 6 months?

Hi varma24365, One other Q - who did you address the letter to (such as the letter from employer)? In the past the letters were addressed to the PSC centres such as in Croydon, but do we address it now to the local centre where we are submitting the biometrics? Inputs appreciated. I am in same situa...

Re: UKVI Digital Changes, No PEO/PSCs from October 2018?

Thanks Loupiol and good luck. I have booked an appointment for next Monday at the Premium Lounge in London. One Q I have is - who do you address the letters (such as the letter from employer) to? In the past it was the PSC centre you were going to, such as Croydon. Do you now simply put the address ...

Re: ILR Super Priority - decision times upto 6 months?

I am in same situation as @boykingin. booked appointment on 16/11/2018 and paid for one day service. No clue what will happen after biometrices. Hi just wondering if you had same issues? When I went to upload my documents, under "Mandatory documents" section, it doesn't give me any option to upload...

Re: ILR Super Priority - decision times upto 6 months?

Wish you all the best but please keep us updated with outcome. Was it possible to book an appointment during weekend or out of hours ? At this stage appointments are not too difficult to get. Out of hours cost an additional premium of £60 on top of whatever else that centre may charge. Keep in mind...

Re: ILR Super Priority - decision times upto 6 months?

I havent uploaded my documents yet, but I just checked and I dont have that problem. I have the option to upload documents under Mandatory section.

I think (hope!) we are catching the early teething issues, considering the system just went live last week.
