Petition for UK passport e-gates to recognise Irish passport cards

Although the UK continues to accept Irish passport cards following Brexit, the UK's airport e-gates still don't recognise them. An Irish friend created this UK parliamentary petition for the UK to start accepting Irish passport cards at its airports' e-gates: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions...

This board is designed to help in immigration-matters. If you ask a specific questions there can be specific answers. You are not even asking a question, so it´s unclear to me what you expect...? All your post tells us is that "someone" obviously wants to "go to Lithuania". That leaves quite a lot t...

Why did you even apply for a visa?

As long as you travel together, you can just go without visa:

For the purposes of this discussion, how do you assert it contradicts 2004/38/EC? I was convinced that it's legal AND possible to enter the UK, as an EEA-family-member, without visa, because of the following provisions: >>2004/38/EC<< , Article 5 Section 4: Where a Union citizen, or a family member...

EEA-family member to the UK without visa, or not?

I'm more and more confused if trips to the UK for EEA-family-members are 100% possible: While the legal base for such trips seems to be 2004/38/EC and "The Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2006", I just found the following cited in another forum: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sit...

Re: EU citizen to UK

Supervisor asked me why I have no visa and I told him that this is an EU passport! That´s mainly due to some of the visa-check-clerks not understanding the visa rules in full. Had a similar experience when travelling from Frankfurt(Germany) to Larnaca(Cyprus) with a Belgian ID-card(not passport). T...

Hi Mr. Ali,

I can´t sign it:
You must be a British citizen or normally live in the UK to create or sign e-petitions.
but if I could I would.

ILR does not count as a residence card as per directive. Your mum can travel without valid residence card though, as long as her husband travels with her, and it´s all described here: www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=95372 (scroll down to " EEA family member without Residence Card (Part 2) ...

I'm slightly confused. I thought the lawyer is Australian? In any case, I refer again to the list of documents that were mentioned in the article. If that was all I can see why it was not sufficient. The Thai girl's problem is a standard one: young, apparently unbound, unfinished education which all easily translate into the refusal given. Invoking 'prostitution' because the Consul had mentioned this earlier in an interviews is unnecessary and just sensationalist. Maybe, but then the case-worke...

And there lies the problem. You opine that CH can unlaterally make this change without actually arguing why. I am of the opinion that they can't because the Schengen agreement gave CH very clear rules how to operate their immigration. They cannot easily break out of this as mentioned earlier. Why s...

How so without being in conflict with the Schengen rules or the bilaterals? Neither provides for visa-free travel as you say. How do you propose to break out of this corset? Does the Schengen agreement allow extensions beyond the original agreement (it would obviously not be a problem for the other...
