EEA Naturalisation - Long absence from UK

Dear All, I am an EEA national hoping to apply for naturalisation this Autumn. Let me ask a few questions 1. I had a long absence from the UK - approx. 340 days away. I visited UK 5 times during this time (always for 2 days) but as I did not keep the UK home then, I would always stay in a hotel: - D...

First, to provide some background: - I am an EU national, who first came to the UK in 2002 - I have held a Permanent Residence Status since 1 July 2009 (the card was issued on 2 July 2018 – I appl...

Residence Requirements Questions

Hi, Apologies for starting a new thread but I have not got any response to the previous one. Maybe the post was just too long. I am an EEA national who would like to apply for BC next year. I got my PR as of Jul 2009 but the card was issued in Jul 2018 only. Let me just have a few questions: 1. The ...

EEA National Planning to Apply for BC in 2019

Dear All, I would appreciate your help on a few questions regarding my path to UK Citizenship. My current status is as follows: 1. I am an EEA national who acquired PR as of 4 Jul 2009. The PR card was issued in Jul 2018 and I had to prove I had not lost the PR due to an absence from the UK longer t...

Re: EEA PR Card and proof of residence during 5 month absenc

The answer to both questions is positive. Apologies for not providing all the background to my case but I have done some research and it seems that I tick all the boxes with the question asked in my original post being the only concern.

Best,

EEA PR Card and proof of residence during 5 month absence

Hi, I am thinking about applying for a PR Card and have two specific question. My entitlement would be based on a 5 year period that took place in the past. Now, in my final year I had a 5 month absence from the UK: 1. Do I need to prove residence during this period (i.e. show relevant tenancy agree...

Re: Permanent Residence Card Question

BTW - not sure if it changes anything but in Aug 2009 I was in full time employment in another EU country (Germany). Looking quickly at my notes my next visit in the UK was in Nov 2009.

Re: Permanent Residence Card Question

Hi again. Thanks for the prompt reply. I should have good evidence o support all the circumstances until 2009 so may give it a try. Just one question - what do you mean by evidence of residence in the UK from 2009 onward? My understanding was that not being absent for a period longer than 2 years in...

Re: Permanent Residence Card Question

Thank you very much, noajthan. Let me just clarify some of the circumstances: 1. Year 1 Aug 2004 – Oct 2004 – I lived in London doing an unpaid internship in London (was not registered at WRS) Not genuine & effective work; even if it was 'work' the lack of WRS negates it; did you have CSI? - if not ...

Permanent Residence Card Question

Hi, Could you please advise me if I could be eligible for a permanent residence card? I could not find an answer to my question on the forum. I am an A8 EU national and I guess I have historically met the 5 year residency criterion (between 2004 and 2009). Since then I lived in other EU countries (v...
