Re: Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI)

Hello, I'm an ex-Indian national who now holds British citizenship and OCI. My wife (of non-Indian origin) holds both British and Irish citizenship and we live in London. We want to apply for her OCI but have a few questions: Does it matter which nationality she uses to apply for her OCI in UK? Her ...

Re: PR to Citizenship. EU national. Self-sufficiency headach

Congrats on your success! Clearly it meant a lot to you and not just a random piece of formality paper following Brexit (as I know it does to quite a few EU nationals I know with dual citizenship). :) Take a moment to spare a thought for all those unlucky non-EU people who would have loved to be abl...

Just P60s and letter from employer is enough. Employment is not a requirement for naturalisation and they can check your tax records etc with HMRC anyway based on what you put on form.

Well rights are the same but technically you can identify if naturalised as passport states place of birth which for the vast majority of UK born people will be a UK city. Unless you were born abroad to UK parents.

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

hi guys ..is there any restriction staying abroad once you are citizen .. i meant with ilr you can stay out of the country for 2 years max... is there any thing like that when you are citizen ? Nope! Think about it, all of us in UK for 5-10+ years now getting citizenship remained to be citizens of ...

Re: Vary Application for ILR - 4.5 Months Gap

This is where I should have posted this. I don't understand HO rules. While I sympathise with people in the gap situation (I was in the same boat at one point and had to get married to cover  ), HO should not count any time spent under a rejected frivolous FP etc. application towards ILR clock...

Re: tier 2 Licence Revoked

I'm not surprised they let you reenter without any problems because let's look at this with common sense. You have not broken any laws and are a respectable wage earning person who still holds a valid visa for UK. Plus a person with many years of life in UK will potentially own property and personal...

Re: Forgot employment history

I would not read too much into it and just go ahead and apply with as much information as you can provide e.g. letters from employers, P60s etc. You can write in additional info section that you undertook part time work as a student but always kept to the terms of your visa and paid taxes as applica...

Question to those of you who have returned your ILR BRP card as per the 5 day requirement. Which address did you send it to? The form AN guidance notes and the latest gov.uk site give two different Bristol addresses with different PO box and postcode. :? https://www.gov.uk/becoming-a-british-citize...

Yeah it sucks that a lot of people see this as a mere time wasting formality rather than a responsibility and privilege. Hence, patriotism etc. are in decline.

Unlikely you have been granted ILR with the fee not taken.

You need to provide a bit more immigration history for anyone to offer advice.
Fee of £1875 implies it was by post

You might be the luckiest soul in this expensive rat race! You did what you had to do so just sit back and chill. They had your payment details so will take it if they want and no obligation on you to chase anything. They would have kept the full fee even if they rejected your case for the tiniest o...
