Re: Is a BRP relevant after citizenship?

I didn't want to, but the guy at the post office wouldn't accept my application without it.

I'd say you've done the right thing, if they ask for it you can always send it afterwards.

Re: Is a BRP relevant after citizenship?

you should have guessed that BRP is not needed as long as you have been naturalised. it's sole purpose is to keep track of foreign nationals( non EU of course) in UK. you probably panicked when you lost it and wanted to get a new one. You could say so, but I didn't have anything left to do when the...

Re: Is a BRP relevant after citizenship?

To anyone who might benefit from this... Taking UKBA's word for it (that I need a replacement BRP), I applied for the BRP replacement and also got biometrics registered, paying the fees for both. A few days ago, I was surfing the UKBA website when I came across the term "Biometric Residence Permit f...

Is a BRP relevant after citizenship?

Hi, In a previous post I had mentioned that the passport office had misplaced my BRP when processing my first British passport application. I had contacted UKBA and they had confirmed that I still need to replace my lost BRP. Now the dilemma is that I have incidentally changed nationality (to Britis...

Re:

d_seng : Hmm, that's ok as you don't need it again since you have become a British Citizen (which automatically invalidates the ILR). I managed to surrender my Indian passport without them asking for my BRP. I then contacted Home Office to notify them of the lost BRP, which they have cancelled now,...

Biometric Resident Permit (BRP) misplaced by Passport Office

Hi all, I submitted my passport, citizenship certificate and my BRP to the post office as part of my passport application. The envelope that I received back from the Passport Office only contained my passport and citizenship certificate, and the people in the passport office are unable to trace it. ...

Re: Indian Marriage certificate for schengen visa(EU spouse)

Just to share with all, my wife obtained British citizenship last year by naturalisation. We got married in India many years ago but I still have my Indian passport. Delaying the citizenship ceremony possible?

Hi all, If I were to apply for citizenship today and receive my approval letter in say in one month in August (as I can see from many recent cases), can I call up my council and defer the citizenship ceremony to sometime in November? Has anybody done this before? I am asking this because my home cou...

Tier 1 visa holder applying as ILR dependant

Hello, I am living in the UK on a Tier-1 visa that was issued in Sep 2008, valid till Sep 2011. I was previously on a WP (from Apr 2005) and then switched to my wife's dependant visa in Nov 2006. My wife is on a work permit since Jun 2006 and she is due for her ILR in May 2011. I have two questions:...

You can't have two status at a time, but you can have two valid visas. When you enter the country, you should say on which visa you are entering. IMHO, you will have to leave the country and re-enter as dependant. ==== The instructions on the issue have changed. See also Can I have more than one vi...
