Yes. You can visit and come. But it's very very dangerous. If the course is complete, they have the right to send you back. Even if you tell them that you will apply from inside UK, they can still refuse entry. It's better to get enrolled in a new course and then go. But I'm planning to come in as ...

The course ends in April, but T4 visa ends in July. I'm planning to leave in March and come back in May.

Business visit during Tier 4

Hi I'm about to graduate and I'm thinking of conducting some business meetings with accountants and lawyers to establish a business. My Tier 4 will run out in July, but can I leave the country and come back in as a business visitor? That is, can I enter as a business visitor even when my Tier 4 is s...

Re: Registering as a director

Hi, Can a Tier 4 holder be registered as a director of a business (in the UK) but not work for it during their time in the UK? Thanks IMO that would still be against the rules. Wait for others to confirm as well. Right. That's a bit strange though, because even non-residents can register a company ...

Re: Being the Director but not conducting business?

i don't think that is permitted. If the company is set up by a director and its trading, so that means you are doing a business under this company name which is not allowed to be run by TIER 4 holder I was going through the Guidance at http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/applicationforms/...

Being the Director but not conducting business?

Hi, I see that Tier 4 holders are not permitted to be self-employed. However, could a holder be the Director of a business but be employed to take on just technical responsibilities, e.g., as a Programmer, during the time on Tier 4? There's no management or trading involved, so that shouldn't be reg...

Extending Tier 4 outside of the UK

Hi

I'm in the process of preparing for an extension of my Tier 4 visa. I'm now thinking of making the application in Hong Kong, of which I'm a citizen. Can extensions of Tier 4 be made outside of the UK? Are the documents required the same as those made within the UK?

Thanks

This whole third-party funding issue is confusing me too. Para 103i says: "A declaration from every third party that they have made the money available for you to invest in a business in the United Kingdom." What does it actually mean by "mak[ing] the money available for you to invest in a business....

A person cannot get a COS if they own more than 10% of the shares and they cannot issue a COS to themselves. Right. So if they own more than 10% of the shares, extending Tier 1 Entrepreneur seems to be pretty much the most natural option... With the £200k, if it's money 'made available by other peo...

Tier 1 Entrepreneur Extension

Hi, Suppose I start my own company on a Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa and take up the post of Director, but then not extend the Tier 1 after 3yrs because I probably won't want to make a £200k injection. Can I then switch to Tier 2 since I will take up employment as Director? If so, does that mean that my...

Passport expiring in 3 months

Hi I'm preparing my application for an extension of my Tier 4, but my passport is expiring in 3 months (Jan 2013). If the application somehow gets dragged on for more than 3 months at the Home Office, would they reject my application on the basis that it has expired during the application process? S...

How come there aren't any same-day appointments available?

Hi

I'm applying for a Tier 2 and would like to go for the same-day service due to urgency. I've been looking for a slot over the past 3 weeks, but there doesn't seem to be any available dates. Are slots usually this rare? Are there really that many people willing to pay £800+ more for a visa?[/i]

some legal representatives have special access to the premium service. See: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/aboutus/contact/applyinginperson/sameday/ That's something I don't quite understand. Even without a legal representative, one could still go for same-day, which they call 'Premium service' ...

Prioritising application via a solicitor

Hi all, I can't find any available date for face-to-face appointment, but I need to have my application processed within 1 month's time as my job starts in a month. I called up a solicitor (found online) and they referred me to "Kings Court Chambers". They said the service costs around £600 and they...

The share holders however do not manage the company administratively. The LTD company however can be a company owned by an individual o...

I don't think that by holding certain % share of any PLC company would make you entrepreneur. You need to be Administratevlly managing the company i.e. you are the decision making authority of the company which otherwise means that you don't have a boss, you are your own boss. Although holding the ...

Working for a business you've joined

Hi, The rules seem to say that the visa holder could work for businesses he/she has joined. What does it mean by joining? If I hold say, a 10% equity of the company, could I work for it? Do I have to acquire the equity by means of a monetary transaction? What if it came from exercising share options...
