Hi Kapie - really glad to hear you got your visa! Did it really go through that quickly? I'm asking as I may have to apply for a similar visa in the future. I am currently living with my British partner in the UK and we are planning to get married later this year. I have been told I need to apply fo...

Hi Irakra - just curious...did you manage to find out more about what you need to do? I'm getting myself ready for the worst if I have to leave the country as I can't ask my ex for any documents as he's been harrasing me over the past 2 years. I just want to know if I can stay in the UK for a bit longer (as my current visa doesn't expire till 2012) after my divorce is finalized or wo...

Thanks for your reply Vegeta - I'm actually not sure now if I will get to the naturalisation stage as I'm separated from my husband and he won't cooperate in giving me any evidence that he has been working. My residence card will expire in 2012, do you know if I can stay on that permit even if my di...

Hi jimkam - really sorry to hear about your refusal. I understand how you feel as I'm sort of in the same situation. I will be divorced in July and I know my ex won't cooperate. He has been abusive and threatening in the past 2 years we've been separated so I have absolutely nothing to show he's bee...

Raoul35 - you should be fine if you can get your ex to give you letters from her employers and if you apply for PR after you're divorced the HO shouldn't require your ex's passport...that is what I've been told by HO anyway. My ex won't help me with anything so I have no evidence of him exercising t...

Yes, hopefully that will be enough for the HO. I rang them back a little while ago...asked the same question and was told that I will definitely have to prove my ex was exercising treaty rights right up till divorce is finallized. In my case 2 years after I separated! I told her I will not be able t...

Hi bobobo - I actually rang the HO this morning to check the very same thing. I have been separated from my ex for almost 2 years...divorce will hopefully be finalized in 3 months. They assured me my ex's passport won't be required, as long as I'm divorced at the time of applying. I'm hoping that wi...
