Re: E vetting and citizenship application

Got my acknowledgement letter only in July 2022. Since then I've been waiting for my evetting letter by post...

Re: Citizenship application form issue

What's amusing to me is the fact that they keep mentioning that the onus is on us to prove that we've been legally resident in the State and have been continually residing in the state and so on.. But for South Asians like me, there are very few countries where my passport won't be stamped at the ai...

Re: Citizenship application form issue

Yes, it has just been updated now and a PDF is available.
Does anyone have an idea what "Department of Social welfare annual statement " means? How will I get any statement dated for the past 5 years now if I never had them earlier?

Re: Naturalization Application - Meaning of "a year" in calculating residency

Thanks for your reply.

Looks like it has now been officially announced that from Jan 1 2022, it is no longer mandatory to send original passport along with application and a color photocopy attested by a solicitor will suffice.

Naturalization Application - Meaning of "a year" in calculating residency

Hi All, I have a couple of questions regarding the citizenship application: One of the conditions be a resident in Ireland is: "You can spend up to 6 weeks per year outside of Ireland and still be considered a resident. " How should "a year" here be calculated? Will it be a calendar year i.e Jan to ...

Re: Reckonable residence and application time

Thanks very much for the clarification. :) I might look to send the documents in Jan then since most offices work at reduced capacity in December owing to holidays anyway. On the same point, how do I calculate the number of days spent outside the state. For ex: if my flight left Dublin on 10th Jan a...

Reckonable residence and application time

Hi All, I've lived in Ireland since Nov 2016 and plan to apply for citizenship based on living here for 5 years on my Stamp 1 and Stamp 4 visa. In these 5 years, I've been on holidays for a total of about 100 days and in no year have I been out for more than 6 weeks. My question is: 1) Should I appl...
