Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

There were five people all together including myself. After swearing an oath/affirmation we were given our certificates. A piece of national anthem was played ( not all of it ) and then we got to take each others pictures posing next to Her Maj lol :D

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

If its only 15 days, then I'd say that's not to worry about.
CSI becomes relevant if we're talking months, or more like half a year.

Thanks for the updates but their website says that, they have cancelled all the ceremonies due to recent lockdown

Indeed. I was told that they are 'considering' virtual ceremonies.

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Something definitely went wrong with the mid to late August batch of certificates from comments here. Myself and hubby approved on 21st August 2020 and not heard anything till now. No invitation letter yet and when our local council got a big batch this week our certificates weren’t included. I wor...

I have been told that I need to wait communication from the Home Office that my certificate has reached the local council.

Has any of you people received such communication ?

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

It's usually 6 months (but you'd probably have to be exercising TR in a capacity of a jobseeker)
Ohh and CSI isn't required for time spent not in the UK.

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

Well, I, for one, have read the policy guidance and other documents pertaining to a topic of naturalisation 'word by word' ( as generally, that's how the process of reading works ) a good fews times now. Breach of immigration 'laws' causes the residence to be unlawful. Shocking as it may be  ...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

clearly caught by this because I have been here for 9 years, the first of which I was a student with no CSI In my opinion 'caught by this' is for non-EEA people who can overstay and have an expired visa. For EEA citizens is proving 5 years lawful residence in any period of the 10 years. Since 15 of...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

Say someone have exercised the TR for the 5 FIRST years and achieved PR status. It is my thinking (also Directive 2004/38/EC) that they won't need to be exercising treaty rights any further AS THEY WOULDN'T BE IN BREACH OF IMMIGRATION LAWS. It is stated in guidance that the applicant must not have b...

Re: Permanent Residence Card Necessary As Settled EEA?

No. I don't remember the exact wording but the form does ask you something along the lines of : '' what will you use to apply for British citizenship?'' The answer to which would be - ''Indefinite leave to remain (ILR), including ILR granted under the EU Settlement Scheme'' . Then it asks you when t...

Re: citizenship via EEA PR route after dec 2020

Why would you think that your application could be 'invalidated' because 'the regulations' will cease to apply?

I know that you're yet to have the ceremony, but following that logic, people who applied using PR route would have their citizenship 'invalided' as well?

Re: Naturalisation and Comprehensive Sickness Insurance

I have a permanent residence card issued back in October 2014. I had an unemployment period from mid April to mid July in 2016 for 3 months. You'd be fine. The requirement for CSI applies to people who had not acquired PR. As you have proof of having acquired PR before your brief period of unemploy...

Re: EHIC Card as proof of CSI for citizenship application

Its not so much the card as such that matters.
Just get you local authorities to send you a 'certificate' / note which confirms that you were insured back in your country of origin.

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

You no longer needed CSI past the point of being granted settled status.
For the purposes of naturalisation, you would have needed CSI (in case you were student or self sufficient) for the period prior to the grant of settled status in order for the residence to be considered 'lawfull' .

Re: Evidence is required that applicant has been in the UK lawfully for qualifying period of 3 or 5 years.

This is absurd. I have contacted them re documents and was told that they couldn’t assist me as they don’t give immigration advice (?) Also nowhere on the applications it asks to upload ‘status outcome’ letter . I’ve just entered the date I was granted settl status and reference number of the applic...

I thought it was for HO and not them to decide, anyway did they make any suggestions as to what evidence you should provide?most importantly, will you you get to book another appointment or the whole application is rejected?
