Tier 2 to ILR - Should I get printed bank statements?

Hi everyone,

Recently saw some people mentioning getting paper statements from their bank for the ILR application / going to the branch to get some sort of "stamp" on them.

Is this really needed though? Can I not just attach online PDF statements to my application?

Re: Changing employer on Tier 2 - documents to obtain for ILR

One more quick question if you don't mind... I assume they don't care about what day this absence letter is signed on / dated with? Could be say just the last day of my employment?

I'm in the same boat, no updates really. It's quite likely that I'm going to start without my visa being ready

Changing employer on Tier 2 - documents to obtain for ILR

Hey, so I'm changing jobs now, and in a couple of years I should be able to apply for ILR. Can someone please provide a list of documents I should obtain from my current employer before I leave, to make sure I don't get into trouble when I complete my 5 years? I know that I should get a letter confi...

Re: Tier 2 redundancies

And not one of them would stay in they UK if they got offered a great job with enough money and prospects and schooling for the kids and healthcare and police that don't take bribes and a clean and tidy low pollution environment with safe food etc. Not true. If the T2 worker has been here for long ...

Re: Tier 2 redundancies

I don't agree. Many of us here on Tech 2 are in tech and have decent savings. Having my visa extended for 12-18 months would personally bring me massive amounts of peace of mind. A blanket increase in visa period for Tier 2 employees means the government has to allow them to work any job. This is u...

Re: Tier 2 redundancies

I dont see how its practical to give a blanket extension to Tier 2 migrants for 12 -18 months. ... Tier 2 migrants dont have recourse to public funds. So how can someone be there without a job for a year in a high cost of living country. Very few people have that level of savings. I don't agree. Ma...

Re: Tier 2 redundancies

@Waseem432000 which forum as we talking about where Tier-2 visas should be extended for 12-18 months? I think we should come together and support this. When we pay an equal amount of tax we deserve a fair chance during this unprecedented situation. No one has seen anything like this, with this whol...

Re: Tier 2 redundancies

I hope things improve quickly and as soon as lockdown is over, the economy takes a big turn for the good So far this seems extremely unlikely. common sense would say that HO may want to give skilled people a fair chance to get new employments Why would they? They have designed their whole immigrati...

accept a job with very low pay better than being unemployed I'd reckon Oh yeah definitely. Re: Tier 2 redundancies

I think it's not fair if the letter comes early and 2 months is not sufficient time to find a job here in the UK. Haha that's the whole point! British public don't want any immigrants in this country and the Home Office designed these rules precisely to make kicking people out of the UK and destroy...

You have to submit an application before the 60 days curtailment end date, ie new visa expiry date. Tier 2 redundancies

So I think it's pretty clear at this point that we are going to witness perhaps the biggest redundancies among Tier 2 people in history. I personally haven't lost my job yet but want to be prepared. Hence a couple of questions: I've seen a few times on this forum that the 2 months you get to find a ...

Re: Tier 2: Got the HO letter, waiting for BRP, can't prove my right to work through gov.uk

Funnily enough I received my BRP just a few hours after I wrote the above. However as I entered the details on https://www.gov.uk/prove-right-to-work it said there are no records matching my BRP number so I still feel a bit worried. Also just wanted to say that contrary to what I've seen on this for...

Tier 2: Got the HO letter, waiting for BRP, can't prove my right to work through gov.uk

However I could also see in other threads that others could at least see their status updated by entering the...

Re: Response I got from HO on self-employment

I see. Thanks a lot! Can I ask you a couple more questions: One other point to note, you can not contract yourself out to third parties as that contravenes the broader tier 2 requirements. I am not quite sure if I understand this - where exactly is the boundary between "self-employment" and "contrac...

Re: Response I got from HO on self-employment

Self employment is allowed on Tier 2 as long as it meets the criteria in full as set out in the email. Thank you for clarifying this. My confusion is coming from the fact that it's been said quite a few times on this forum that self-employment is strictly prohibited under Tier 2. A couple of exampl...

Same professional level and same profession as your main tier 2 job!! Not 'sector'. Note that there is a difference between Supplementary employment at 20 hours per week and Secondary employment (which you need a sponsor and CoS for). Re: Tier 2 - Second job - Paid through PAYE but never signed a contract

One more thing... in a few threads I could see people saying that the second job has not only to be in the same profession, but also in the same sector . Is this indeed true? I can't see anything like this on gov.uk: https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/second-job If it is indeed the case - how do you ...
