Although someone told us, who recently applied, that they didn't need anything from their spouse which i found strange, i'd rather hand in too much than not enough. Another thing, and this is me just being a worrier! As the visa is quite expensive in the 1st p...

Urgent, but very quick question regarding TB certificate

My husband received his visa last friday, it took 4 weeks to process so he had his TB test done around 5-6 weeks ago now. Is there a validity time scale on the TB certificate? Or will a 5-6 week old one be fine to show at Heathrow? Please advise. Many thanks

Hi, I am by no means an expert but I am sure that you need to show that you have around £95 extra a week (which calculates as around £400 a month) disposable income. This is the amount that is required for a couple to be able to support themselves. Is there any way you can reduce spending? I dont ...

Hi there, I think if you can include 6 months bank statements and wage slips that is best. Even if your new job started in October and you were working a different job before you could put those in too. Obviously if its not possible go with what you can. I also put in P60 and a monthly budget. I'm n...

Hi, My husband submitted his settlememt visa application over 3 weeks ago in Nairobi - has anyone else applied from Nairobi? I also live at home with my parents - and we just applied 2 weeks ago. I took the supporting evidence folder to the IAS in the city where I live before I posted it to my husband, and they checked it through and wrote us a letter. The letter we got was from the council - a lady came round to look at the house and then wrote a letter saying it would not be overcrowded and was of good standard. This was all free of charge and they were very helpful. I telephoned my council and asked to speak to someone at the housing standards ...
