Citizenship ceremony booked without invitation letter

Hi all, I face a dilemma. I moved to a new address before receiving my approval letter. Subsequently my invitation letter to attend a ceremony was returned to the Home Office for some reason, even though I had set up mail redirection. I contacted that local council. It is noteworthy that I no longer...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Does anyone know a way to get in contact with Cambridgeshire citizenship office? I've emailed 10 days ago, radio silence. E-mailed them and got a reply in a few hours. You should provide them all the details they asked for and might be better to send a new email as well. Thanks. Good to know they'r...

Change of address prior to approval of naturalisation application

Hi all, I attended biometrics appointment on 14th January, 2021. Three months on, I'm still awaiting approval of my application. Last week, I moved to a new address. Although I have set up mail redirection to my new address for the next three months, I'm not entirely sure if I need to notify UKVI. A...

Average processing time for naturalisation applications - 2 months since biometrics appointment and still waiting

Hi all, I attended the biometrics appointment for my naturalisation application on 14th January. It's been almost two months since and I haven't heard anything back. I regularly check the timelines section here and I can see that a lot of people received an approval notification within a month or so...

Your salary or employment is irrelevant to your citizenship application. You do not even have to be employed if your choose not to be.
Thank you. That is very reassuring.

Re: Naturalisation - Impact on application because of much lower salary after ILR

Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone could help me here. I applied for naturalisation last month. My application for ILR was approved in May 2019 after 5 years on a tier 2 visa. During my 5 year qualifying period, I changed employers only once. After receiving my ILR, I resigned from my job in August of...

Re: 10 Year Employment History - Unable to add details for more than 5 jobs

I must say, that having lived in the UK for more than a decade, I feel that the system is rigged against decent, law-abiding residents and more so, if you happen to be a legal immigrant.

Re: 10 Year Employment History - Unable to add details for more than 5 jobs

Shall I take legal action against the HMRC and the employer in question? You need to consult a lawyer as to the legal basis for action. However, you'd probably need raise a formal complaint first: https://www.gov.uk/complain-about-hmrc If no satisfactory outcome you can take it to the Adjudicator's...

Referee Forms - Colour of ink for signature and handwritten details

Hi everyone,
One of my referees has sent back my form signed in blue ink instead of black. Would this be acceptable?

Thanks.

Re: Employment History - Response from HMRC vis-à-vis SAR

Discrepancies in employment dates (leaving/Joining/P45) are generally not an issue, and as @cullinan said: Re: Employment History - Response from HMRC vis-à-vis SAR by CULLINAN » 20 Sep 2020 18:27 Thats what I said, if the date in error covers your work visa conditions, then no issues even if its n...

Re: Naturalisation Application - Proof of self-employment

Your not self-employed then. Tick director only and explain the company is dormant in additional notes. Really appreciate your guidance! I could only see one section for notes and that is in a different section of the application. Is that the right place to add any notes relevant to work history?

Re: Naturalisation Application - Proof of self-employment

Are you registered as self-employed? Why did you select both options? Should I only choose Director? Have you registered with HMRC as self-employed? Re: Naturalisation Application - Proof of self-employment

I just found some relevant info on this website. https://www.informdirect.co.uk/company-formation/tell-hmrc-new-company-dormant/ Apparently I need a letter from the HMRC to confirm that my company is dormant. 10 Year Employment History - Unable to add details for more than 5 jobs

Good Evening, I am completing the online application form for naturalisation. For some reason, the system won't allow me to enter details for more than 5 previous employments. Has anyone else experienced the same issue? It seems unlikely that this is a bug in their online system, considering that th...
