OCI Application Process - Urgent Question

The status of my OCI application is 'Processed' and the documents have been received at HCI, London. My questions are: 1. What documents should I send now? 2. Can I use one Special Delivery envelope for my family (three passports), or should I use separate envelopes? Any help is very much appreciated.

Re: Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI)

This question may have been answered before, but could someone please clarify? What documents should I send for postal OCI family application to London? Should they be originals and photocopies? Should the photocopies be self attested? Should I send a separate set of photocopies of parents for my ch...

Can you provide more details about what the driving offense was for and when it happened and why it went to court etc. If you did not declare it on your form or ask, how is NCS suppose to say or advise anything about it. With such an important application as naturalisation, it is really never a goo...

Re: Travel with British Citizenship but without British Pass

Shall we file for Certificate of Entitlement to ROA or the British passport from India? British passport takes 16 weeks and I am not sure about the visa status of my daughter after surrendering the Indian passport in India. so we are inclined to file for CoE to ROA but not sure if this will cause a...

Thanks Char. I understand councils don't issue the certificates. But the certificate does not state 'Issued *at* Home Office, London', hence the confusion.

Has anyone here had a similar issue?

Passport Application - Questions

I was naturalised in August and just got around to applying for my passport. In the field where it asks for 'Place of issue of naturalisation certificate' I wrote Leicester (place of ceremony) and the person at PO check and send refused to accept it, stating that the field should say 'Home Office Lo...

Thanks Jambo. So in effect that means that Right of Abode is not equivalent to proof that you are a British Citizen.

Right of Abode and British Passport application

I am not sure if this question has been answered before, but could someone please clarify? If a child has Certificate of Entitlement to Right of Abode in the passport (Indian passport), can this be used as proof in lieu of certificate of naturalisation while applying for British passport in UK? Or s...

Thanks vinny. I thought so. I guess I will just apply for settlement in India for her and request that the application be expedited. I am not sure they will agree though.

The child was born in India and at the time of her birth both parents were on ILR (settled).

I am not that fussed about applying for her citizenship. I am more interested in getting her to the UK quickly and apply for her settlement here if that is possible.

Visitor visa or Settlement - Confusion

I am a British citizen by naturalisation and my wife has ILR. Our child is eligible for settlement/citizenship, but has been in India since birth. We want to bring her to the UK, but want to do so quickly. I understand that processing settlement visa/passport can take up to 3 months. I would be grat...

Re: Self Assessment Recalculation/Late Tax Filing

See Q22 British Citizenship – Good Character Requirement FAQs Thanks for the link. I guess the relevant question is Q22 on non-payment of taxes and tax evasion. Would I be right in assuming that if I pay the back taxes, this would not amount to tax evasion and would hence not be declared in the app...

Self Assessment Recalculation/Late Tax Filing

Hi all, Sorry if this has been asked before!! I work as a contractor through my own limited company and when filing my self-assessment form for the previous tax year, I inadvertantly left out my PAYE income (I was transitioning from permanent employment to self employment and hence the mistake). I a...
