Mine came from CMU 2 @fuzzbizz I see from the "2019 Citizenship Applications Timelines Only" thread that you've included "Garda e-vetting form: 17/05/2021" on your timeline. Is this a form you received? I was under the impression that this is a new step that would only apply to more recent applicati...

FOI - nothing happening?

I notice that other people have done FOI and see garda vetting at least once a year. Is that normal? I got my FOI response back yesterday. I applied March 2019 and they haven't even done a garda vetting since 2019. I'm curious if others have had the same experience.

Re: Citizenship Application Traffic Offence?

A lot of people like to hang on to the fiction that "provisional licence" is still a thing (they don't exist anymore) but if you drive alone, with only a learner's permit (a learner's permit is not a licence) that seems equivalent to driving without a licence. It's very, very clearly against the law...

Minor offence? Seems like driving without a licence is severe. Regardless, they'll find out anyway, one presumes. Seems better for them to find out from you than from garda.

Re: Pending decisions/approvals on applications from 16-17

@fuzzbizz I guess the fact that you CAN work in the UK should be of no importance to you or any other applicant since, in our application we all have clearly stated that we intend to live in the Republic of Ireland in the future? I can intend to reside in Ireland in completely good faith but still ...

Re: Pending decisions/approvals on applications from 16-17

Reasons? Firstly, the EU applicants do not benefit from holding an Irish passport, except for the right to vote in Ireland. We can travel and work freely within the EU anyway. ... By the way, nothing is stopping you from giving back and participating in the community without an Irish passport. Agai...

The day you sign your name on the form. So, at the latest, the day you post it.

It should only take a day or two to get there, anyway, if you're in Ireland.
