Why are you having all this hassle to get an appointment. I didn't call home office once to apply.

I paid a solicitor who already had set appointments with home office to make my application. It was much easier...

Got my ILR (HSMP)

I was active years ago here before and just after I got my HSMP (tier 1). And now I finished 4 years of hsmp (with judicial review) and got my ILR on Monday. I passed all documents to a solicitor to whom I paid £500 as I really didn't want to go to the hassle of trying to get an appointment and jus...

Ankara Antlasmasi (Ankara Agreement) for Turkish Citizens

As you might have heard, Ankara Agreement (Ankara Antlasmasi in Turkish) has become the most popular way of staying in the UK for most Turkish students, aupairs or visitors. As long as you have a meaningful business idea, you can get the residence permit. Now the Home Office is approving many Ankara...

Shockboy says "i see two type of people coming to UK: those who come over here and participate in the community, and those who only socialise with people from their home country"... Good observation, I totally agree with you. However, I would like to divide those who only socialise with people from ...

I think some of wording of my observations about UK was not perfect; I do not hate UK or English people. Of course, it is always socially more challenging to live abroad. What I am saying is that English are ignorant when it comes socialising with you... You are very "other" for them. Look, I am not...

German residence permit for employment, please suggest

I got a job offer from Germany, marketing manager for a well known IT/media company. There are currently 3 ways to get residence permit for work in Germany; General, Specialist and self-employment. I asked the embassy which one should be applicable to me, and they said I might get the General one......

It has been a long time noone answered, so I will tell my experience. I got the visa for 2 days for the interview, although the rules dont apply to my case. Got HSMP but might leave UK - loss of trust in UK!

I got my HSMP extension for 4 years, but since I had so much stress on these very unfair restrospective changes and tougher immigration procedures for skilled people like us, I am considering to leave this country where illegal immigrants are able to stay as long as they want unless they plan a terr...

Hi mate, I would not advise you to apply to ways that Home Office might esteem as dodgy and investigate. Work very hard for part-time and you will cover the gap. I started a part time telemarketing job which pays 7.25 in london, just to make sure I am far above the required income which will contrib...

One thing I learned here is that English are the most unreliable people I have ever seen. I...

Earning 8 or 12 month period: Sum of 8 months or Annual?

For those with 12 m HSMP visa to extend, it says earning for 8 month period will be scored. This is a very vague expression. Are they going to score the annual salary of your job(s) that you might have started a few months ago or are they scoring by adding the earnings made each month in the last 8 ...
