Yes. But the new test ? Dates are too confusing to remember as-well-as difficult. I am not sure if anyone here completed the new test who can throw some light on what is the empahsis given ? is it too much on dates or knowing the concepts ?

I just have given the test yest and the test did have 1-2 questions date related and few more from history. It's quite evenly distributed among all chapters. I would recommend to make notes of dates, monarchs, imp sports personnel, artists and musicians. Then try questionnaire. As along as you cont...

Re: Solihull Centre

Is food item and iPad allowed in solihull centre? I will be visiting next week with my family and kid. Please let me know if any body has used this centre before. Electronic items are 'allowed' inside provided they are switched off. Food items I am not sure. The procedure and interview takes very s...

life in the uk test

Been reading this book.
I am not able to remember the history and dates. Is there any person who has finished this test who can give us a feedback on the test. If too much emphasis is given on history and dates then i am a dead meat.

Re: ILR Success@Croydon 22 April 2013

I entered UK 10 months after getting my visa (HSMP at that time). Do you guys think I can show the 90 day part of it as absence? Or it won't count since it is more than 90 days? So, I entered UK on 13/02/2009, can I apply on 13/11/2013? If not, how about the 28 day earlier rule? I should be able to...

After all the panic and confusion, now that we are seeing number of cases where the employer letter is not even asked if the number of days absence are less. I am convinced we don't need to worry too much about the absenses issue. If possible get a letter or explain in a personal letter that would ...

Doesnt look like the FOI answers are to be taken seriously since they do not seem to have a grasp of the rules
Generally it seems that CaseWorkers are more knowledgeable and considerate on case to case basis.

Just to make thing clear here. I see some people still posting the fact that they were not away for more than 90 days within a given year. My understanding is that the 180 day rule per year (from dec'12) is still valid?!? cheers From Apr 2013 the 180 day rule comes to effect. in any 12 months 180 d...

Re: Paid Annual Leave for TIER 1 General Migrant

People who got rejected at ILR level will be shattered and will take time to recuperate ... even so...

Let's get together and fight back by hiring a Solicitor etc.
Problem is petition can be filed only by a resident or a citizen Only a solicitor can do it and we in the board who are aspirants of ILR cannot.

I think that we should seek the opinion of a professional immigration lawyer first. Having asked quite a few solicitors I have been answered that the rules in place when we come in to the country will continue and so these things will not be an issue. I am not sure how updated they are in their bus...

I cannot go back and un-take the leaves ? Why does UKBA does not understand this when applying rules ? Why are these not given for review before suddenly thrown on to face of immigrants ? Anyhow, there is no use in arguing here. We all must join hands to support people who are affected by this rule....

Questions asked to ILR Settlement Team Absences due to the applicant travelling to see family and friends whilst unemployed would break the continuous period for ILR, as they are not work-related or for compelling or compassionate reasons. This is a load of crap. Atleast argueable and fine if appli...

Is there any place where we can have a one-one with UKBA ? I dont think they are clear in their rules. Thanks...this is indeed useful. All - some part of it is slightly worrying...it says if you went out of UK on unpaid leaves then that is a break ? If someone went for a holiday in between jobs, finishing one and then starting another then does that mean it will be considered a break in residency ? ...

unclear reply

Tier 1 migrants do no need to provide a letter from their employer regarding the business related absences, as many Tier 1 migrants are self-employed. I can't see any logic here at all. Better wait for more cases. Totally agree!!! Why are they not clear in answering questions ? You as 10 and they a...
