Nope. I've been waiting since 23 October 2009. This Friday it will be 12 weeks. Granted, we did have the Christmas break in-between.

DOB cert

Hi there

I had to ask my family at home to go to the local department of home affairs of my country and request the unabbridged birth certificate. (took about 6 weeks if I remember correctly: South africa) Sometimes its required for visa applications too so it's handy to have it.

Good luck.

Dublin court alternatives:

Hi Luha I'm in the same boat. Called a few months ago and could only get October in Dolphin house. I'd almost recommend the Dubliners to call before you get the letter and book the court. Worse thing that can happen is you need to cancel the court again :) Here's the following courts who wouldn't ta...

Just wondering for those poor guys in Dublin still waiting... Have any of you considered to pre-book the court? It seems like the guys on the forum can give you a pretty good estimate on when your letter will arrive. Courts are booked at elast 4 months in advance now so as long as you're more accura...

this is the strange bit. (I'm selfemployed. don't know if that has an effect) I was asked for extra docos in November last year and sent back everything in december. I didn't hear anything back until April this year when they asked for tax docs again. I send them the same stuff again. I don't really...

What's the process after this? I send the Form7 back... wait x weeks and then apply for pasport and wait y weeks? Any...

Hi guys

any news on dublin court bookings? How long in advance do you have to book dublin courts these days. I see there's an auth date in the tracker. Shall we add the jurisdiction as well?

Hi guys Can someone tell me if the letter confirming successful application (the one before you arrange the court proceedings) is sent by registered mail? I'm travelling on business trips and hope that an post won't send it back if I don't pick it up within x days. If it's registered, do you know ho...

Courts & Districts

ok guys, appreciate your ethics. But there is no rule which says that you can't relocate post application approval OR you can't rent out 2 places at same time. What I am suggesting is that you can rent out a room/apt in nearby county, get your address changed officially on driving licence etc and t...

Marriage Affidavit

Hi Guys I'm totally puzzled. I'm divorced and have been since 2004. Was married to non-EU citizen. When I applied in 2005 I was already divorced. Now they want a marriage affidavit. (I already sent them the final decree of my divorce and civil status cert proving my current status as divorce). I don...

For each month since APR-08 (until SEP-08...

Ah man, Jambles. You're not serious! I was hoping that I'll have citizenship next year Jan (based on 30+ months waiting etc) but I assumed citizenship=passport. So now my question. How long after citizenship do you actually have the passport in your hand? Probably another 30 months??! :-s Where woul...

Hi Pahadia I'm interested in what permission you have to work in the UK. I would have liked to consider something similar. I doubt if it can affect your application as you will already qualify to apply. They only 'rule' that I saw was the 1 year residence before application and another 4 in the last...

Citizenship timelines: AUG-2007 Update

Hi guys I applied in MAR-2006 for the first time. Had some admin issues, and then successfully resubmitted my citizenship application in AUG-2006. In SEP (07) I received a letter now stating the following: - It is likely that my application will take longer than 30 months. - They are currently exami...

Not sure what you mean with unlimited WP. I've been working with 2 different companies, having WP's at each. After 6 years I applied for citizenship and got 5 year long term. So no WP required anymore. So if you're NOT talking about residency, then I recommend applying for long term residency. If yo...

Hi I got a stamp in my passport for the long term residency. It reads: Permitted to remain in Ireland until 11 October 2011 And then some signature and date. So my passport is fine for 5 years. My GNIB card expires on that same date. So that is fine for 5 years as well. Stamp 4 this time. So there's...

Hi TRV I applied after being here for 6 years almost. (laziness mostly and the fact that there's SO much details and paperwork to supply). However somewhere I missed either permission to stay in the country in the final year (3 months missing) so I had to wait until I have one full year of legally r...
