Re: UK Student Visitor Visa application submitted with error

Hi Lucapooka You mentioned in your post that on VISA4UK website FAQs it is mentioned that corrections can be made with a pen. I am trying to find the relevant FAQ but it might have been taken down. What is the latest advice if we have made a mistake in the application that is already submitted. Many...

Re: Travelling first time since becoming British Citizen

Thank you dr_me for your very clear post. However I have one issue. I do not have NICOP. I do not have deep knowledge on this but I can't see any issue in using Pakistani passport for the journey. So on airline system I will key-in my Pakistani passport details and on my return journey show them ILR...

Re: Travelling first time since becoming British Citizen

Thanks Ozair I think you got it wrong I want to just use my Pakistani passport not British. I will only use British to enter back into the country by presenting it at the immigration on London Heathrow. I want to use my Pakistani passport and ILR for check-in purposes. Will there be any issues with ...

Re: Travelling first time since becoming British Citizen

Does ILR become invalid after becoming British Citizen? Anybody used Pakistani passport while checking-in online and faced any problems? Once you enter the passport details it will remain the same for both going out and coming back journey. Just to recap to keep things simple I want to use Pakistani...

Re: Travelling first time since becoming British Citizen

If I use my british passport for flying then it means I need to get a visa to Pakistan isn't it? How would it create problem at the check-in desk? For them being British is irrelevant isn't it? I am using my Pakistani passport to fly to Pakistan and on return I will show my Pakistani passport along ...

Travelling first time since becoming British Citizen

Hello members I am flying to Pakistan first time since I got my British nationality. I just wanted to know if I can put my Pakistani passport details when I check-in and also use the same when I am returning back but provide my British Passport on immigration counter. Is this how people use it? I am...

Re: Can HMPO force to change name?

Hello members I thought I should update this post. I got my wife's passport without any problems and she does not had to change her name to use my surname. Our journey is now complete. Best of luck to all who are waiting and thank you for all the support from all the members especially the moderator...

Re: Can HMPO force to change name?

Thanks again for your reply That has given me little bit relief but as you mentioned in the case we are discussing there was an intention to change the name but it seems that this intention was not specified anywhere so how come passport office can question the intention. You wouldn’t know the answe...

Re: Can HMPO force to change name?

She has never used my surname anywhere. This was acceptable to UKBA till now. Do you think now it could be...

Can HMPO force to change name?

Hello Members, I am creating a thread out of another member’s experience with HMPO (Passport office). See exerts below. Can HMPO do this? I am in the same boat and what should I reply with if I receive a similar call. Is it based on some law or just one case worker’s preference? by SgtBellPepper » T...

Re: British Passport application processing timelines (only)

I discussed the long saga previously on this thread. Long story short, we originally applied under my wife's maiden name (which is what her spousal visa, ILR, and naturalisation applications are under and approved!) and they didn't like that. So we had to submit a new application form, photographs ...

Re: Passport application – Section 3 (uncancelled passports)

To me uncancelled passport means passport which are not expired. I think what it is trying to capture is if people already have dual nationality then they send both their passports.

Am I right? Otherwise how can someone has two uncancelled passports from the same country? Is it not illegal?

Citizenship ceremony – duration

Hi

Can someone advise on how long the citizenship ceremony last? We have ours scheduled to start at 11:00 and are invited to come at around 10:30. Just bit worried about picking my son up from School at 15:00.

Thanks

Passport application – Section 3 (uncancelled passports)

Hello Members Section 3 says “You must send all uncancelled passports with the application” which is quite clear to me but read nearly all the posts about this section on the forum and there seems to be conflicting advice. Some posts say include only recent passport as per the form. Some say include...

Hello Members

Do you think I can use the same photos from the citizenship application to apply for my passport. They were taken in October. The guidline doesn't specify anything about how recent the photos should be

Thanks
