VFS Global self upload question

Hi, I am applying for my parent's 10-year standard visitor visa and I have a question about self-uploading documents. I have bought the Document Scanning assistance service to help my parents with submitting their documents. Coming to my question, can I upload some documents on the portal and can my...

Schengen visa for parents visiting UK from India

Hi, I live in the UK with my family, and we are all British citizens. My parents are visiting to UK in a few months and we were planning to take them for a Europe tour while they are here. They live in India and hold Indian passport. Is it possible for them to apply for a schengen visa while they ar...

Re: Parent Visitor Visa - IT Contractor

Nothing has changed as far as family ties are concerned. The thing that has changed is my employment situation. As mentioned in my previous message, I was a permanent employee first, and recently have moved to IT contracting.

Re: Parent Visitor Visa - IT Contractor

In some places, I have also seen (for contractors) that a letter from the accountant can be provided. I can arrange for a letter from my accountant, but I am not sure what sort of information is needed from them? My accountant can say that I can decide on what salary I want to withdraw, and I can st...

Re: Parent Visitor Visa - IT Contractor

Simply put, if my parents have sufficient funds in their account, do I need to prove my financial position and provide any financial documents (bank statement proving my salary)?

Re: Parent Visitor Visa - IT Contractor

Hi Vinny, Thanks for the reply. As per family ties, they have all their family, apart from me, in India. In the past 3 visits, we have provided the list of relatives in India, and that had worked fine in all instances. I think family ties-wise, I should be fine, unless they have changed the rules. M...

Parent Visitor Visa - IT Contractor

Hi All, Before asking the question, I will give you a bit of context about myself. I am a UK citizen (previously had Tier 1 visa) and have started doing IT contracting from October 2016, after being a permanent employee for several years. I am planning to apply for my parent's visitor visa in April ...

Re: Surrender of Indian passport for family

Thanks elvampiro for the help.

I have bought the thick envelope, and got it made self-addressed. I hope it would work out cheaper than what they would have charged at VFS. :-)

Surrender of Indian passport for family

Hi All, I recently got my British passport and now going to surrender my and family's (wife and 10-year old son) Indian passport. I have a couple of questions regarding this:- 1. I am assuming all the family doesn't need to physically go for the appointment, and only I can go on their behalf. Is tha...

Re: NCS Appt after Fees increase pls advise

UKBA was abolished in 2013. My apologies.. I meant Home Office, but I am sure you understood what I meant. Yes, 'them'. No need to apologise but if you started mailing 'UKBA' (to some address found on www) you'd be on a hiding to nothing. Forum FAQs may address your concern, have you checked it? . ...

Hi guys, Thanks for all the replies. I called up the council where my appointment was scheduled to check if there is an earlier day available, but unfortunately there wasn't any. Thanks Mani and Ban.S My original plan was the same - applying for UK passport -> surrendering Indian passport -> OCI. But after hearing about the fine, I got a bit worried. I am planning to go to India in July-end. If I start the process now, I guess 3-3.5 months should be enough to complete the pr...
