Re: Now what?

Thank you - we are currently living with my parents (I saw we will need a letter from them to cover the period of time we stayed with them when we come to reapply) but will make sure we cover both names on bills when we move out (hopefully soon now he can look for work!). Will get him signed up at t...

Okay....in another really weird twist when I have got to the end of the form and was expecting to have to pay the IHS it has come up saying my partner is exempt from having to pay this? I am really confused now and reluctant to send off his application as I really don't think this is correct! Can an...

Re: Fiance to Spouse Visa

Oh my goodness, I hate how incompetent this form is making me feel. I have another question - my partner and I got married just this week so as such I haven't changed my name on my passport - I assume when it comes to the pages asking about my name and details I go with what is written in my passpor...

Re: Fiance to Spouse Visa

Hi, Sorry, just another query as I'm filling the form. For this question: What UK visa, entry clearance or grant of leave do you have? This will usually be in your passport or on your biometric residence permit. Do I literally copy what is on the visa vignette e.g. D - Marriage/CP etc. Or do I just...

Fiance to Spouse Visa

Hi, I was hoping someone may be able to answer a couple of questions that I have: 1. I just wanted to check which route we take to apply for a spouse visa from a fiance visa? My husband is obviously now in the UK so I assume we pick this route? 2. English Language test - can we reuse his certificate...

Re: Wedding Postponed - New Lockdown - COVID - vida expiring soon

Yes, I know until December 2nd. However my local Registry Office didn’t have any availability for December when we originally booked our date...obviously people may have cancelled. They’re top of my list of people to call. Thank you for the link to the latest updates - that’s what I was looking for ...

Wedding Postponed - New Lockdown - COVID - vida expiring soon

Hi, Just wondering if anyone had any experience from the first UK lockdown that may shed some light on the situation we find ourselves in? Wedding was booked for November 23. Given the documents that have come out today it looks like this isn’t going to happen (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/new-nation...

Re: Giving Notice Period - Marriage

Hi All, I thought I'd post a brief update now that we have gone and completed our notice appointment. At the time of booking our appointment online one of the questions was whether or not my partner holds the appropriate visa for marriage i.e. fiance visa. As he does we selected yes and were only ch...

Those on fiance visas are rarely extended to 70 days. Usually 28 days or within the 28 days is the response from UKVI.
Oh thank you, that fills me with some relief.

Re: Giving Notice Period - Marriage

Ah okay, sorry I understand now. Yes I knew that when it came to reapplying for the visa after we got married that we would have to supply sufficient relationship evidence again. I just didn't realise that it applied to the giving notice to marry. I really appreciate all your help and advice so far....

Re: Giving Notice Period - Marriage

Does seem like a bit of a flawed system if they have already investigated our relationship once to issue the visa! Well this is just the tip of iceberg as each time the maintenance of relationship is tested in the form of subsisting relationship evidences. Sorry, not sure I understand what you mean?

Re: Giving Notice Period - Marriage

Thanks both, that's what I'm worried about. His visa was issued but there was a delay in the visa being issued and him being able to receive it due to the TLS Contact office in his country not being open! We lost a massive chunk of time so I'm now worried that if we have to wait 70 days that it will...

Giving Notice Period - Marriage

Hi All, Just after some advice or people's experiences really... My finace is a non EAA national but does have a valid fiance visa. I was just wondering how long our notice period would be... 28 days or 70? I have read on the registry office website that sometimes cases from non EAA nationals get re...

Re: Fiance Visa Approved - Travel?

Thank you, he didn't get a letter. They gave him his passport with the Fiance visa issued inside - some of the papers that he originally submitted and told him to travel as soon as possible. I can find advice saying about spouse visa applicants have a certain window to enter the UK within but nothin...

Fiance Visa Approved - Travel?

Hi,

My partner collected his passport this week after the centre opened on Monday. It was issued back in June so it has been more than 30 days since it was issued.

Does the 30 day travel apply to Fiance visa or just Spouse visa?

Thanks
