If HO extends the notice to 70 days, you won't be able to remain in the UK as your visa would have expired. You cannot switch to a partner visa until you are married unless you have rock solid proof of living together in a relationship akin to marriage for 24 months to qualify for an unmarried part...

Yes, my county is Wandsworth and I have to give notice and then register for the ceremony 29 -72 days after giving notice? 1. You need to give the standard 28 days notice. 2. okay, so I would have to register at the Home Office designated Registry Office first and then is notified by the home office. Do I choose any designated registry office near me and make an appointment?

The government website seems straight forward but I don't want to get this wrong.

I am going through the same thing, however in the early stages of the process. I am currently on a tier 5 but my partner holds a british/aus passport. is it hard getting an appointment? or have you had luck in getting one?
