In addition, you are required to be in the country for at least 5 business days after the applictaion is submitted. In that case you might have a problem because there is no discretion with the 5 year rule. Why do you think I might have a issue on the 5 business days one ? Say if I apply with a app...

Agree with you with the point to avoid risk , I can wait for two more months but would prefer to have it done as soon as possible given the uncertainities on these rules in the current scenario. Having looked at the discretion para on the website again , it says "You must be free from immigration ti...

krishna186, What you posted is correct but not relevant. There is no link between the requirment of being free for 12 months from immigration restrictions and the 5 year (or 3 year as a spouse) presence requirement. As advised before there is no room for discretion over this. see below: Residential...

Re: citizenship 5 year resident period

How about this ?? http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/britishcitizenship/eligibility/naturalisation/immigrationtimerestrictions/ Refer to bullet three as below "the time restriction was in place for less than 10 days at the beginning of the 12 month period; " so techincally , we should be able to use ...

Strange situation - Can I get ILR NOW

Hi, I was a single work permit since Nov 1997 to Sep 2004 with extensions applied in UK many a times . Please note that I came on 6 month WP to start and have extended later many a times . I should have applied for ILR then , but did not do so. I had to leave UK back to my home country in Sep 2004 a...

This question has been raised quite a few times here. It's 45 days on average per year. During the days when you needed to complete 4 years to be eligible for an ILR, that worked out to a max of 180 days over 4 years. Now that the requirement has been increased to 5 years (with the exception of the...

I would like to know the procedures / application / fee details for Tier1 dependant registration with police. Thanks in advance. If u have to register you must; 1. For ILR , Do we need to produce all teh five years P60's ? Or only for ther period since the last time you had a visa extension or change of type of work visa for example from WP to TIER 1 ?

Also my employer provides me with a soft copy of P60 ? Would that suffice for ILR ?

Regards,

Re: Tax

As per my understanding ...Once you are on Tier 1 means you are a resident in UK for tax purposes so you have to pay full taxes here in UK. UK became your primary home after Tier 1. Thats what you declare in your Tier 1 app..!! UK should be your main home and allowances mean you are not paying righ...

Hi Coolwp,

Since you were in UK since last 18 months , you cannot uplift your Indian Salary . PLease read through the guidance note for Tier 1 in detail .

Agent can help but will not increase your chances ... as it is another 700 or so to get an agent apart from HO fees .

Cheers,
