Local council not received certificate yet

I received my approval email last Monday (19th), on the email it said it takes a working day for the council go receive my certificate. I called on Friday and they still haven't received it. Has anyone had a similar experience? (Are there any approximate times?) Who should I contact if the council h...

Romanian visa - Indian national

Hello, I'm looking to put together an application for a Romanian visit visa for my father who is an Indian national. Based on the information I've found, we need an Invitation Letter issued by the General Immigration Inspectorate of the Ministry of Interior of Romania and we're not sure how to go ab...

Schengen visa expiry date query

Hello, I just received my Schengen visa, which will cover me for my first trip, but only partly for the second trip. Would it be ok to apply for another schengen visa to cover me for my second trip even though there is an overlap of validity? e.g Schengen visa currently valid up to 6/1/24, needed va...

Re: Online status error- ILR

I'm having a similar issue. I wanted to share my ILR status with work however it still has my details from my Skilled Worker visa. My ILR was approved mid-October.
I wonder if there is some kind of glitch in the system?

ILR Consent Form

Hey all,

I've put in my ILR SER(LR) application.
I just had a query on the consent form to upload to UKVCAS.

Do I have to put in part 3 on the consent form if my partner paid for my application from his card?
He does not sponsor me in any way.

Re: SET (LR) application query

Thanks moderators! I have another query for you; the application documentation asks for 'All previous passports, travel documents or national identity cards that you have used to travel to or remain in the UK'. Do you think this should include my passports which pre-date the 10 years period? I ask b...

SET (LR) application query

Hey everyone, I am in the process of putting together all the information/documents that I need for my ILR SET (LR) application. Re: CoS query - switching from Student route to Skilled worker route

Just as information for others - I cited the information and documentation as I noted in previous posts to my employer. They added a note of amendment to my CoS, as my request, although they said: "We do still believe that you are not a new entrant, however for your satisfaction, we will amend this....

Re: CoS query - switching from Student route to Skilled worker route

If you meet the salary requirements without being categorised as a new entrant I doubt if there will be any issue with the visa or that the CoS would be invalidated. However it would be preferable to correct the CoS which can be done with a sponsor note. I will request my employer to this effect, a...

Re: CoS query - switching from Student route to Skilled worker route

Doesn't the CoS just state that your are switching from T4 to SW? They have also not stipulated that I have been here on a PhD student visa for over 12m. I'm sure, of course, the Home office will have this in their immigration record. However, will this be an issue as I am applying from within the ...

Re: CoS query - switching from Student route to Skilled worker route

Doesn't the CoS just state that your are switching from T4 to SW? No, assuming salary is not an issue between you and the employer. The rules only prescribe the minima. Thank you for your advice. No - it does not. However, it does mention: Skilled Worker (Switching immigration category). However in...

CoS query - switching from Student route to Skilled worker route

Hello, I was issued a certificate of sponsorship today. The employer put me down as not a new entrant. They argued that I am not a new entrant as I have been working those 20 hours and hence not considered a new entrant to the labour market. I am currently in the UK as a PhD student (27y/o) and in t...

Tier 4 applying for Skilled Worker route commence employment during visa processing

I am currently on a Student visa, hoping to apply from within the UK. I am due to submit my PhD thesis next month and hope to potentially start a job following this. My visa is due to expire in October 2021. Once I am given a CoS from an employer and have applied for the visa, awaiting my biometrics...

Re: Long Residence ILR advice break period

Yes, I have discussed this. As vivas are currently held remotely, there is no justification for them to issue an extension. Saying that, previously, the university rules stipulated that unless you have more experimentation which requires to be done on campus (ie you need to be in the UK), there is n...

Why not apply for Post Doctoral Scheme or PSW to cover the year you need?
Under the new visa rules, this is unfortunately not an option for me.
My visa will expire before I am due to have my viva.

Passport validity query for applying within the UK

My Indian passport is due to expire in Feb 2022.
I am hoping to apply for a Skilled Worker visa within the next few months.

Is there a minimum duration for which your passport must be valid when applying for a new visa from within the UK?

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Long Residence ILR advice break period

I'm currently a Tier 4 student in the UK. I have been in the UK for nearly 9 years now. I initially came to the UK in October 2012. I am looking to apply for the 10-year long residence visa (ILR) in October 2022. I have stayed well within the limits of being outside of the country and have not left ...
