Unfortunately we can’t change his situation re applying for ILR so we’re looking at this as a way forward for now.

Thanks for your help! Hopefully someone will have some further advice too.

It was through FBR.

My concern at the moment is if we need to spend time outside the U.K. for any long period, my husband’s status may be jeopardised with just pre-settled status. With Brexit going forward it is becoming uncertain for the non EU spouse of an Irish citizen

Irish through my grandmother born in Belfast.

HO has been notified.

That’s why British citizenship looks like the most appealing situation for us since the clock reset for him getting an EEA permit rather than ILR. He’s not applying for British citizenship right now, just me.
