Hello, 8 years have passed since he left his home country, with a genuine fear of persecution, we were far from happy at the thought of travelling back there! In fact you can't even apply for entry clearance from there, so any potential trip would have been as short as possible and only to get him a...

In-country visa success!

Hi, I posted on here a while ago and got some good advice from John, Rmberg and Amanda. :D I want to share our success story incase it helps anyone else. My partner was a failed asylum seeker, been here since 2000, asylum claim rejected 2003. He never left the UK, in 2006 he was caught with a false ...

Further to this thread, I am seeing refusals on this basis every day now, and they are coming thick and fast. All I can think to fight on is Human Rights, but this is usually flimsy. This is going to be a MAJOR problem, as I think, unfortunately, that refusals on this basis while unfair are not con...

Naturalisation application form

Hi.
Does anyone know if the home office will accept a Naturalisation application form AN which has been downloaded and printed from a computer, instead of the official version which they send out to you?
I have looked on the BIA website but can't see the answer to my question.

Thanks

Is a failed asylum seeker allowed to do voluntary work?

Hi, Is anyone able to confirm whether a failed asylum seeker is allowed to do voluntary work? My partner is in this situation, he loves the voluntary work he does, but I am worried incase it causes any problems? He volunteers with a couple of different organisations and they are fully aware of his s...

no entry clearance post

Hi Does anyone know if there are many countries that do not have an entry clearance post? We are currently waiting to hear about my partners in-country fiancee visa application. He is a failed asylum seeker. I know that the general advice is to return home and apply, but we have tried unsuccessfully...

Hi Sarah,
Can I ask what it is that you have applied for? Is it for your partner to get leave to remain? Also who has assured you that you will hear in 4 weeks?
I am interested because my partner is also from a country which doesn't have an entry clearance post.

Thanks and Good Luck!

Hi, I am far from an expert at this, but I am in a similar situation. Nanny bear, I think that you, or another family member, can act as an extra financial support to you daughter, if you are in a position to do so. So you could write a letter saying you can offer them financial support should they ...

Hi John,
Thanks for your reply.
Yes I am British. The country my partner is from is Guinea. We will ask our solicitor about the marriage application, we didn't apply before as we asssumed it would be refused, but as you say it may be worth a try.
Thanks again

Hi, merry christmas to everyone. Does anyone have any experience of the following? My partner is a failed asylum seeker, been in the U.K since 2000. He was 'lost' to the authorities for several years, but earlier this year came to the attention of the home office and is now 'subject to immigration c...

Thanks again John, yes i was aware of the need for me to get a visa to travel to guinea.
Looking at the second part of your last message - its Guinea we will be going to, not Equatorial Guinea - so at least thats one thing we wont have to worry about!
Thanks
