Re: Skilled worker Cos dates and IHS charges

What is your current visa? are you switching from what visa type exactly?

For the skilled worker route, the employer can issue a CoS for two years and you will need to pay all the fees, including IHS for the period of time in the CoS, and for every applicant.

Re: Clarification on information in email received to apply for evisa

If I was you and for peace of mind, I'd drop this query on the link provided and seek further clarifications directly from UKVI. It states that an answer is provided within 3 working days. They should tell you how to proceed.

Re: Clarification on information in email received to apply for evisa

The BRP card number is given to that card only, it's not a person ID number.

It doesn't matter if you have ILR or any other immigration status.

Re: Clarification on information in email received to apply for evisa

1. It might be difficult to answer that question. The eVisa system is new and many still don't know the intricacies of it. I would wait a few days to see if a new BRP is delivered and then follow the instructions of the email and create an account. If that doesn't happen, I'd try registering with th...

Re: Sponsor willing to provide COS but no allocation available for inside UK

Don't rely on that employer only, keep applying for jobs with other licensed sponsors. Not sure what's your occupation but it's completely possible to find something before 10th June.

Out of curiosity, when did you finish your last job? or how long did it take to receive the curtailment letter?

Re: Change of Jobs- different soc codes

Correct.

Dependants can apply either together with the main applicant or later at any time before their current visa expires. That's clearly explained in the immigration rules.

1. No. An applicant can be sponsored in any eligible SOC, according to their qualifications. 2. No. Same as 1. 3. Salary has to meet the current conditions - whichever is the higher of: £38,700 per year the ‘going rate’ for the type of work you’ll be doing 4. He needs to apply and pay everything aga...

Gibraltar is not part of the UK or the common travel area (CTA).

If an applicant travels outside the UK or the CTA before a decision is made, the application is withdrawn.

Re: ILR eligibility - just short of 5 year qualifying period

I was thinking to take a risk and apply for wife's dependant ILR on May 15, and address this in the cover letter. Will they consider this? Apply before (near) the expiry date of the current visa - 15 May seems ok. Delay and book biometrics within the qualifying period, i.e. 21 June onwards. The app...

Re: Global Talent Visa (GTV) Route 1 as an Assistant Professor -- after a recent ATAS refusal

So am I correct in assuming that the contents and wording of the statement of guarantee are the most crucial factors for the endorsement? That's correct. Under route 1, only TWO documents are submitted to apply for endorsement: a statement of guarantee (SoG) and a job description. The SoG plays the...

Re: Global Talent Visa (GTV) Route 1 as an Assistant Professor -- after a recent ATAS refusal

1. You quoted a case that in my view has an adequate wording for a statement of guarantee. In any case, you need to discuss this with your line manager and the HR department. They might have previously supported other applicants under this route. The letter also needs to be aligned with the specific...

Re: Impact of US B1 rejection on eligibility for ESTA after naturalisation as UK citizen

If your plan is to travel as a family and that was/will be stated during the application/interview, being a homemaker is not necessarily a bad thing. Wait for the outcome on the application. Receiving a rejection should not prevent to get it - or an ESTA - in the future, many obtain a B1/B2 visa aft...

Re: Am I good enough for peer review route?

This is a question for the endorsing body really. Check the requirements on the endorsing body website and compare with your credentials to assess what are your chances to be endorsed. Also try to contact other foreign academic staff at your university who might be on a GTV and ask how they prepared...

Re: can we go outside of Uk while ILR is in process

If you travel outside the UK before a decision is made, the ILR application will be withdrawn.
You must not travel outside of the UK, Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man until you get a decision. Your application will be withdrawn if you do.

I would like to know if there is any exception or other options that can allow for an earlier application than the standard 28 days. The ILR application can be submitted, pay the fees online, etc before the 5 years-28 days anniversary. The guidance referenced above mentions that the applicant can b...

Also note that anybody can apply online for a provisional UK driving licence which is an accepted ID form. It's cheap and no need to have a car or even know how to drive for this.

Thank you. It looks like telephone call is cheaper than e-mail. I will wait one more week as there were some public holidays. That's a waste of money and time, it will not change anything. Re: Apply for ILR right after getting GTV

You can combine time with a Skilled Worker visa + GTV and apply for ILR once reached three years. I'd suggest waiting at least a month after a GTV is granted - e.g. to get a payslip under this route - and then apply for ILR.

Re: Clarification on Residency Status Requirement for Eminent Person Recommending Applicants in RAEng peer review route

The guidance only mentions that the eminent person should be: an ‘eminent person’ living in the UK who knows you and your work. The endorsing body must judge that the person has ‘internationally recognised expertise’ in your field. It doesn't specify the person's immigration status but they must be ...

Re: skilled worker visa slightly less than 5 years

You were advised about this two years ago. The duration of your visa was established according to the work start and end dates on the CoS. As you rightly pointed out, UKVI adjusted the start date after all the paperwork was completed, but the work end date remained the same - as per the CoS. UKVI wi...
