Citizenship ceremony

Hi to those who've recently been/attended one.

I have just received my invitation. The question is, should I say the Oath, i.e. swear by Almighty God or Affirmation of allegiance. What did you do and why? Does it make a difference? Sorry to be too personal here.

Hi hs159 I can only advise you as to what I did/submitted. I would imagine the new rules i.e. test etc have not yet been implimented. So I would say a photocopy of your Masters degree certificate would do in this case. I sent a photocopy of my undergraduate degree that was achieved 8 yrs ago. I hope...

Hi Catwoman24_1400, you do not need to send in original copies of your certificates. Photocopies will do. Secondly, the copies of the certificates are to verify your level of English. You also need to send in one certificate copy as long as it is equivalent to or above a Level 2 qualification, i.e. ...

Hi John,

You have metioned something that is news to me. Can you please elaborate more on the citizenship course requirement? Will everyone applying for citizenship have to attend this course or must you meet certain criteria to avoid attending it?

Your comments will grately be appreciated.

Another quick question

I am a Kenyan citizen living in UK, and my wife was Swedish. We married in 1997 and lived together until March 2001, when my wife left our house. However we continued the relationship but not living at the same address. In September 2001 I was granted permanent residency (ILR) in the UK because of m...

Thanx a lot John. It is true that I could have applied years ago but it was not on my mind at the time, I guess it was procrastination. In the last 5 years I have only been out of the country for a total of about 25 days so I think I am also safe on that part. I should be filling in my form soon. th...
