Re: UK Born Child After Mother on ILR

Hi, This thread has been very informative. Our child was born in the UK after spouse got ILR which makes the baby British and has already a passport. Unfortunately, we already sent the BRP-ILR back when my spouse got citizenship early this year. We do have scans of the ILR though but not certified c...

Re: Passing on BC to children born outside the UK

Sorry additional question,

I suppose the policy still holds even if we adopt a child outside the UK?

Passing on BC to children born outside the UK

Hi, My partner and I are thinking of moving abroad for a job offer. He already has BC (naturalisation) since June. Would be great if someone can confirm this: If we have a child born outside the UK, the child will have BC by descent (from my naturalised partner). But their children (our grandchildre...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Hi, Just want to update everyone that my partner had his citizenship ceremony this morning. Background is we booked a private ceremony last April - then Covid19 hit so we just had to wait. Then we asked our council, Ealing, a week ago when they will resume their activities referencing our previously...

Naturalisation when partner gets BC

Hi, My husband and I currently have ILR from our Tier2 - General route. His application for citizenship has already been approved but ceremony was postponed because of the coronavirus. Once he's able to take his ceremony, I can immediately apply for citizenship, right? Since I will be married to a b...

Requesting for extension of ceremony schedule

Hi, Would it be possible to request for an extension, even just a few days, from the Home Office regarding the citizenship ceremony? The situation is my partner received the Home Office invitation letter dated 30 Jan but accdg to our local register, the deadline is before 28 April. I thought we were...

Naturalisation without 12 mos wait

Hi, First of all wanted to thank everyone who replied to my various immigration queries for the past years (especially the moderators). It's been a long journey from Tier2-General and Tier2 Dependant to ILR for both of us. On to my query: we just got the letter inviting my spouse for British Citizen...

Travelling to Spain with a child who's a UK Citizen

Hi, I'm planning to travel to Spain soon. I have a non-EU passport with ILR. My child has a UK passport and will be travelling with me. I note that applicants who have EU/EEA family members don't have to pay a fee. But most of the directives I read say that you must be a spouse of an EU/EEA national...

Re: when is the start of the application date?

Do you think so? It's literally 3 days before eligibility of Nov 2. And we just paid £1.3K :( Relax! One MUST be free of immigration restrictions on the DAY of decision. The email you received is a generic acknowledgment. It’s in a queue. If by any chance you don’t give biometrics in the next few m...

when is the start of the application date?

Hi, My partner filled out the online AN form last Monday (28 Oct) and paid for it so we can book his biometric appointment and upload the documents on Dec 2. His 1-year eligibility is on Nov 2 (from ILR, Tier 2-5year route). But then he got an automated email from Home Office today (31 Oct) saying t...

Naturalisation application - but travelling more than 90 days

Hi, My partner is going to apply for his naturalisation (ILR 1 year from Tier 2 - 5year route) this December. However, he is thinking of going abroad for 3 mos (more than 90 days) after filing his application. He'll be back early April. We hope that the processing time and booking the ceremony will ...

Re: Non-UK Grandparents documents requirements

Forgot to mention one thing. HMPO did send a physical letter and email to referee’s work address asking him to confirm the identity of my newborn on the company’s letterhead. Thought that was odd but a cursory search online showed that this was done as part of spot checks. Hope that helps! Thanks f...

Non-UK Grandparents documents requirements

Hi, My child was born last July 2019 whilst my partner has held ILR since Nov 2018. As I understand, the child is automatically a British citizen and can already apply directly for a British passport. There are questions about grandparents which are easy enough to answer (Names, DOB, Date of marriag...

Re: Tier 2 PBS Dependant application question

First Tier 2 General visa was granted 23 Dec 2014 Current Tier 2 General PBS Dependant visa runs until 29 Oct 2019. When did you switch fom T2 General to T2 General Dependent? I was told that ILR clock resets when you switch status from T2 General to T2 Gen Dependent or viceversa. I am pretty sure ...

Thanks for the quick reply CR001.

Re: Above 35k but below SOC code (Experienced)

Thanks for the two reply posts. The two points above are what we were exactly discussing. On the first reply post, yes my salary is not at the £49,700 level at a 39 hour work week. So my application would be refused. I would be more inclined on the second reply post since the guidance states: " Rate...

Above 35k but below SOC code (Experienced)

Hi, We're planning to apply for ILR (Tier 2 General and 5 year route) this November. My SOC code is 1132 and the rate is £49,700 for experienced. I currently make £48,000 which is below the SOC code but above the £35k min salary requirement. I've got two questions below: I was wondering if my applic...

Re: My ILR and spouse's Tier2 PBS Dependant inquiries

Thanks for the advise. Just to be clear, we have the option of applying for his PBS Dependant Extension either this Nov2018 (during my ILR application) or at Oct2019 (end of validity of his PBS Visa)?

My ILR and spouse's Tier2 PBS Dependant inquiries

Hi, I've got a few questions about my husband's Tier2 PBS Dependant status in light of my ILR application I will apply for an ILR this 11Nov2018, exactly five years after my first Tier2-General visa. Mine is pretty straightforward (meets salary requirement, <180 days, continuous residence etc) so th...
