Re: Undeclared - speeding and Speed Awareness Course

Thanks for your reply. I was given the option of either accepting a fine of £100 plus three points or the Speed Awareness Course. I chose the latter and therefore I was under the impression that it does not require a disclosure? Unfortunately, I wasn't aware that SAR can be requested from the police...

Undeclared - speeding and Speed Awareness Course

Guys, I think I might have made a mistake of omission in my citizenship application that I'd submitted in December 18. During early 2018, I was caught speeding and since my record was clean, I was given the option of attending a Speed Awareness Course which I did and the fine was therefore never imp...

Re: ILR 10 Years - Eligibility

Guys, my appointment is soon coming up. I will highly appreciate any comments/answers to my queries above.

Also, what happens after my ILR application and SMS notification. Does my employer still need to notify the Home Office when I eventually leave work after my ILR?

Thanks.

Re: ILR 10 Years - Eligibility

Thank you, CR001. If I can please take the liberty, I have a few questions in terms of filling in the SET (LR) form and I will be extremely thankful if you could please help me with these too. Question D2: When did you first enter the UK? This refers to the date of your first entry into the UK at th...

ILR 10 Years - Eligibility

Hello everyone, Just before I book an appointment for the same day service, I wanted to confirm if I am indeed eligible to apply for an ILR on the 10 years basis. A brief history is as follows: Arrived in the UK: Jan 2005 (student visa) with expiry date in Sep 2005 Student visa extended: Sep 2005 to...

Re: Tier 2G ILR - unpaid leave

Thank you, Makky.

Do you think I should include a letter from the employer stating along the lines that the leave was unpaid but approved. Only because I will be including the payslips and the bank statements for the prior three months and one payslip will show a reduced net figure.

Tier 2G ILR - unpaid leave

Guys, I am dire need of advice. I took an unpaid leave for one day during last month. I will be eligible to apply for ILR next month. Do I need to mention it somewhere on the application form that I had taken a day off that wasn't paid for? The absence letter that's required is only for the absences...

Tier 2G Resignation

Hello everyone, After having worked for seven long years for my company, I have finally handed in my resignation yesterday. I earn £35k and I could have become eligible in August for ILR but I am totally burnt out and cannot stand the job/boss anymore. My notice period is six months. And if I don't ...

Re: Tier 2 ILR - salary increase not notified

Thank you, Zimba. The annual increment is not guaranteed (don't think it ever is in most cases) and therefore not part of the contract. In my opinion, it's always a matter of discussion based on one's past performance and future goals. On one hand Home Office states that it expects new entrants to e...

Re: Tier 2 ILR - salary increase not notified

Thank you for the caution, Zimba. I am not expecting another pay rise anytime soon so as far as the salary is concerned, such a scenario will not arise. Everything else is in good order. Having said this, are you suggesting that the Home Office is notified of the pay rise that took place late last y...

Tier 2 ILR - salary increase not notified

Hello everyone, Seeing the recent thread on delays caused due to substantial increase in the salary, just prior to the ILR application, I think I might be in a bit of a kerfuffle myself. And I will highly appreciate if someone in the know could answer my query. I am a fully qualified accountant work...

Pay raise needs notifying?

Hello everyone, I have been on tier 2 (general) since September 2012. Got the extension in September 2015 with the same company in the same role. At the time of the extension, my salary was £31,000. I have recently been given a pay raise and with effect from 1st November 2016, my salary has been rai...

Guys, I am aware that this question must have been asked and answered a lot of times in the past but unfortunately I haven't been able to find an answer. Re: Tier 2 - salary increase more than SOC range + no RLMT

My question: Do I need to apply for a new Tier 2 visa, considering the above? or can my sponsor just notify the authority? or nothing needs to be done? I have been on tier 2 since September 2012. My salary at that point was £20,800 and now it's £31,000. Never sent a notification through SMS. Don't ...

Re: Tier 2 (General) - Salary and Codes of Practice

Are you saying that the salary does not need to be increased every time a new 'Codes of practice' is published? Does this mean that as long as your salary is equal or more than the minimum salary in codes of practice at the time of initial application, you have no problem even though the newly publi...

Re: SOC experienced rate -income from self employment and sa

Since when Self-employment became employment? The rules clearly state that you can do a "job" which means you can be on someone's payroll for no more than 20 hours/week. Self-employment requires a yearly self-assessment return and effectively a business/trade and it's most certainly not classified a...

Re: SOC experienced rate -income from self employment and sa

Unfortunately, that is not how it works. Perhaps you are confusing Tier 2 with the good old HSMP where you were allowed to make up a figure from any means as long as it amounted to £35,000 in order to get the visa. Self-employment is a business and Tier 2 rules specifically prohibit any business act...
