Re: British Passport application processing timelines (only)

Is this a general problem or is it only limited to Durham HMPO? This is ridiculous. My application is with Durham Office as well. I applied on 7 May. Does it mean I have no chance to get my passport by 20 June when I need to travel? Is there anyone on this thread who applied in May and whose applic...

Residence card of a family member of EU citizen

Hello

Can you apply for Residence card of family member of EU citizen even if you already have ILR and permanent residence card? (My spouse is British).
How long does it usually take to get this card?
The only reason I need it is to be able to travel without visa in Schengen countries.

Thanks

Re: Ceremony. Can i go to a different council?

thanks for the answer. yeah, i know about a private ceremony option.
for some reason i thought that group ceremonies should be more frequent than that.
i guess i am just pissed off that after three months wait for the approval it is another two months.
so cruel. :(

Re: November 18, 2013

Cheer up :P . I sent mine via NCS on 4.11/13 and received by HO on 05/11/13. I still haven't heard anything from them neither has the money been debited. Fingers crossed it would be soon.  Excuse my naive question but how did you find out the date of receipt by HO? I submitted my applica...

That's great news.
Thanks a lot.

Spouse of British Citizen Residence requirements - question.

Hello I have read the FAQ, but still a little confused on when my wife can apply for her citizenship. I will be applying for the BC in November after completing 1 year ILR requirement and 5 year residence (Work permit route). My wife came to the UK 2 years ago and received her ILR last November same...

Re: URGENT HELP PLEASE- PEO PREMIUM APPOINTMENT FAILED

I went this morning to PEO Solihull for my ILR on 5 years with work permit. But on checking my application CW advised me that their system could not verify my work permit and could not contact issuing authority. System Issues !! So she went back to discuss with her manager and advised me to sent ap...

Putting the two together there is no explicit requirement for 2 year cohabitations, and no requirement to show 'jointly named' documents. You may wish to carry a copy of these rules just in case. Good luck. [/quote] Thanks. I will follow your advise on getting a copy of the rules with me to the app...

Work Pertmit Dependant Cohabitation Documents requirements

I am applying for ILR together with my wife in mid November based on 5 year continuous stay (old work permit). She has been in the country for one year. I realized we do not have any letters in both of our names except for Council Tax bills. We do have a couple of Letters from the bank addressed to ...

Re: ILR Continuous-Residency Absences - Entry/Exit Tracking

Also, I think my application would stand a greater chance of approval if I could tick the "No absences > 6 months" box. If I tick "Yes" and supply documentation, it needs a supervisor's approval. Hence, I'd prefer not to include trips that they don't even know about (and, indeed, I can't accurately...

Yes, weekends, or any day away from UK counts as a day away. It is going to be very difficult to convince that your 'weekends' away deserve discretion. I wonder why. The guidance says "short absences may be disregarded provided the applicant has clearly continued to be based in the UK". Most people...

As I said in my first post, it would definitely be a good idea for anyone who falls foul of this new guidance or will fall foul of it when they come to apply for ILR to consider getting good quality legal advice on options. Out of interest, is anyone certain that the guidance really did appear on t...

Does it mean that what is written in the ILR FAQ post here on the forum about when one can apply is incorrect? anyone on this query, please I actually managed to get through to the UKBA enquiry office on the phone today and asked this question. Application fees at PEO: Paying separately

Hi I am going to apply for ILR based on 5 year work permit stay in about 2 months time. I think my case is straightforward as I have worked all that time for one employer and my salary is above the required level from what I checked last time. I have one dependant which is my wife who came to the UK...
