Eea --> tier 2

Brexit wise, wanted to ask. Am a noneu family member been here for 9 years on 2nd eea1/2 due pr in 2018. Technically speaking, i tick all the boxes for tier 2 shortage. Permanent doctors job on shortage list. Dunno much about tier 2 but my question is, if i could switch over to tier 2 whilst in the ...

10 year rule for child

So we understand that a child born in the uk (2007) can have a citizenship at 10 yrs of age. We are on our 2nd eea1/2 m, due pr in 2 years time. (Noneu spiuse with eu national self suff). The funny part our 1st child will turn 10 before our pr date and with brexit we would like to secure ourselves a...

Brexit visa alternatives to EU nationals

Just been bugging us. There was a speculation that eu citizens in the UK after a potential brexit would have to go through tier2 visas. If thats the case, hypothetically, what will happen? Will we have to leave and apply from outside the UK? There is a salary threshold, would it matter who has got a...

Well this is my question. Can we apply as selfsufficient as per before 2011? I Was the sponsor. No benefits whatsoever and no burden to society.

CSI question? When did it become compulsory??

Been scratching our heads on this. We arrived in the UK in 2007 July me (noneu) and my wife (latvia). Opened a shared bank account and obviousky luved and live together. We got married 1 year prior to that in Latvia where i was a student. My wife was pregnant and am a doctor (started working in nhs ...

Special consideration PR?

Been here 9 years on our second eea1/2 now due for pr as self sufficient with csi and part time work (my eu spouse) just in case. After researching, it states somewhere that the HO can issue PRs under special considerations. Obviously we are a bit twitchy with the brexit and the uncertainty of chang...

Re: What will happen to new PR applications after Brexit?

It may likely to be to stay the same if they PR will still be valid as much as ILR Whether PR will be considered the equivalent of settled status in the event of a Brexit is an open question, though all indications are that that will remain the case. Due to the legacy of colonialism, UK nationality...

Re: Second EEA1/2

Thank you for the reply. However legally, obviously we got the eea1/2 initially on the basis of self employment, nothing changed for the first 5 years until they told us we were under the economical threshold of 70£/week. We then got a csi and reapplied for another eea1/2. Thats quite confusing.

Second EEA1/2

I posted a question in the referendum section but this section might be more appropriate. Have been in the uk for 9 years, on our 2nd eea1/2 now till 2017. Question is, oir first eea3/4 was refused due to lack if self employnent evidence, what dies that make of our first 5yrs in the UK by law, were ...

Re: EU citizens RESIDING in UK

Thank you about the 10 years clarification. We dont have property outside the EU and my children only speak english (as opposed to Latvian) would that count as good enough reason? If the child get naturalised do we as oarents benefit from that as well? And with regards to our first 5 years of eea1/2...

EU citizens RESIDING in UK

Hello all Obviously with the brexit prospect coming closer, new fears have arisen for me and my family at least as per EU route. Having researched a few articles, even Nige himself said that EU cotizens residing in the UK should be OK, given ILR possibly and a few mentions to the Vienna convention, ...

Well, I think we have to understand why they didn't choose this: 'Non-EU nationals who had no prior residence in a Member State before marrying an EU citizen' but they chose this: 'Non-EU nationals who had no prior lawful residence in a Member State before marrying an EU citizen' If there were goin...
