Issues with passport delivery

Hi - I sent my first adult passport application via signed/tracked delivery using Royal mail. It says the application was received by the mail centre due for delivery that day, but it has not been signed for at the passport office. This was on 30th March! I am starting to worry that my application (...

Re: No biometric appointments (anywhere)

Thank you! That would make sense as we just had biometrics a couple of months back for ILR. How did you confirm this? Was it through UKCVAS?

No biometric appointments (anywhere)

Have been checking UKCVAS website at 9am and midnight when I understand slots are released - but we haven't been able to find anything anywhere in the country. Has anybody else had a similar problem? We are checking every day.

Clarification of naturalization eligibility as a spouse

Hi there, I naturalised as a British Citizen last month after having ILR for the period of a year after spending a considerable amount of time on a Tier 2 work visa. My wife was on a Tier 2 dependency visa until last month as well - she now has ILR. She got ILR before I got my citizenship. Before pa...

transferring citizenship ceremony to other council

Hi there, I received approval of citizenship, but my council (in Scotland) has very little availability. I was offered a time in 2 months (that I can't make given work commitments) and another in 3 months. The one in 3 months might work with my job, but I will likely need to travel around June and t...

Re: Request for additional documents - instructions + new timeframe?

thank you - shoot. Just to defend myself a bit on this one - the checklist was not generic. It was a customised list of required documents based on our own circumstances. For example, it references police certificate, transcripts, it does not require proof of LUK given it was taken recently and info...

Request for additional documents - instructions + new timeframe?

Hi There, My wife is applying for ILR Set(O) as a Tier 2 dependent using the priority service. Biometrics enrolled on Saturday. She received an email yesterday asking for proof of cohabitation - but they did say how she should provide this? Would this be by responding to the email, via UKCVAS like t...

timeframe for biometrics

Hi There, My wife is applying for ILR, and I have just submitted my application for British Citizenship. After submitting my application, I was asked to enrol for biometrics and there were no appointments in my city or in any nearby cities in all of December. The only options are paid appointments s...

Re: Date of submission + document query

Thank you - is there any reason I can't wait a week to get them to fill it out if the application is submitted now? I would think there will be a delay before biometrics anyway.

Date of submission + document query

Hi All, I understand I need to be in the UK 5 years prior to the date of submission. Can I confirm that date of submission is when I hit confirm and pay? And I can upload the documents at any time after and this wont impact date of application? I was out of the country early Dec 2016 for a fairly lo...

Previous Applications

I am applying for naturalisation after having ILR for 2 years. I have been in the UK for 13 years and have been on many different visas (student, renewed student, student dependent, Tier 2...). There is a question about "Previous Applications" on my citizenship application: "Have you previously made...

Disclosure of parking tickets?

Hi,

I received a parking ticket by my local council which was dismissed after I appealed. The appeal did not go through court or anything, it was just an email to the local parking team in the council.

Does this type of thing need to be reported in the Good Character section of the application?

Set O is the correct form.

You need to put your last tier 2 details where asked
Perfect, thanks. Any insight about the public funds btw? I received them having settled, but the Set(o) guidance clearly says neither spouse can receive.

can't find the right application form for our circumstances

Hi All, I was on a Tier 2 visa until 2019 where I settled. My wife was on a Tier 2 dependent visa, but not for 5 years at that point so she was not eligible to settle with me. We extended her Tier 2 dependent visa. She is now eligible to settle as she has spend 5 years on this visa, but we can't fin...

Re: Changing jobs - impact on dependent?

Thanks - can you clarify a bit, if you don't mind, how why they permit somebody to be a work permit dependent even if the main applicant does not have a work permit? I can't get my head around it.

Changing jobs - impact on dependent?

Hi, I have indefinite leave to remain after spending 5 years on a Tier 2 visa. My wife did not spend 5 years as a dependent on my Tier 2 visa, so she extended her Tier 2 dependent visa when I settled. She will be eligible for indefinite leave to remain shortly. I have been offered a new job, which I...

Your topic subject says Child Benefit, but you are asking in your post about Child Tax Credits?? They are two completely different things. Note that it is the PARENT the claims Child Benefit, NOT the children, regardless of the children's immigration status. Note also that Universal Credit is the n...

Child benefit - children not citizens

All, I realised this is asked quite a bit (sorry to add to it) but I can't seem to find a specific answer for my situation. I received ILR on 2nd October. I have 3 UK born children. I have submitted an application for them to register as British citizens, but it is still pending. Even though my kids...

super priority refund for delayed BRP?

Hi All, I applied for ILR using the £800 super priority service. I received a decision within 24 hours as expected. However, my BRP has no been delivered and I am nearly at the 10 working day limit. Would a delay in the BRP be grounds for a refund of the super priority fee? There has also been an ap...

A couple queries about MN1

Hi, I've just received a positive settlement decision last week, and am now awaiting my BRP. I have three kids (all under 5), and I am now looking to register them as citizens using the online MN1 application. I have a few queries about this, and any advice would be much appreciated. 1) My children'...
