Re: Salary Survey

Hmmm I'd say in banking in Central London you'll probably be earning between 40K and 60K. In any other sector in Central London, more like 25K to 40K. In the regions, maybe 20K to 35K. With the market in its current state (10s or 100s of applications for every job), you should probably be looking at...

Re: Proof of having funds to support your stay

Why don't you check the IND website: http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk It tells you exactly which forms of evidence they accept. phil If someone applies for a visa and needs to prove they have funds to support their stay, do they actually need the money in the account, or will other documents suffice...

Re: Just reply

I have to disagree with people who say that London is more expensive than Manchester. It's really not that simple. In both cities you can find flat-share accommodation for £50 a week in some of the less nice areas, and in both you can rent a whole nice flat in a good area for around £250 a week. (...

Why would you want to do that? Isn't it better to find another job first and then resign? Employers are generally happy to wait 1 month, and sometimes 3 months, for people to work their notice periods. If you have a longer notice period than 3 months then your only realistic option is indeed to resi...

Re: can we work simultaneously for 2 companies in UK

It depends on what it says in your contract. Most companies only allow you to do this only if your manager approves. It is of course your choice if you wish to break the terms of your contract without telling them. Hi i have a doubt If we have one job in hand and working for 6/8 hours per day. If we...

Well my firm (a US investment bank) has just terminated the contracts of 95% of the contractors working in IT, giving people 2 weeks notice. Few employers are recruiting in the sector at the moment so I'm guessing most of these chaps will be out of work for the next 3 or 4 months.

Well if you haven't signed anything, I don't think there are any legal problems. It'll just be really, really irritating - don't ever show your face in that company again! Erm actually I think you'll find it was the United Nations which created Israel after WW2. How exactly is that 'Israel illegally taking the land by force'? The UN created the country, so it was legal. Ok you could argue that some of Israel's subsequent actions have been illegal but your precise stat...

I would say that if you apply for just your mother to visit you, then you would normally be OK provided there is evidence she will return (e.g. she is married and has family and a business there, with her husband will manage in her absence).
