IHS

My wife is applying for FLR (discretionary leave) this will be her 3rd DL application as she has to go through the 10 year family route, so another 2.5 years also after this one. She originally came to the UK in 2009 on the spouse visa. Last time out she paid the IHS but she now refuses to pay it th...

Re: Proof of right to work

I don't think proof of postage would make much difference with her boss. The address on the proof of postage is just a postcode, and I don't think her boss would check this let alone call the home office for confirmation. Could she write to the Home Office for confirmation of her right to work? I'm ...

Proof of right to work

Hi My wife's discretionary leave to remain ended in July and she has submitted her application for an extension. For her application she had to submit her residence card but this week her employers have asked her for this as they are doing checks on all foreign nationals to make sure they have up to...

FLR (DL) application form

Hi My wife is filling in her DL application. In section 4-dependent who are also applying- the part where it asks for her partners details does she need to fill my details in (her husband). I'm British born and live here so I'm guessing no,but I can't see anywhere else on the form where she would pu...

Re: FLR (O) or FLR (M)

That was a good link to read through thanks, thought we had cracked it and could apply for ILR but coming back to the thread it now seems we can't just yet. Did google A280B and had a read through but couldn't make head nor tail of it on first reading if I'm honest. Will try again later, can I just ...

Re: FLR (O) or FLR (M)

Yes. I don't think she can yet apply for ILR until after her second DLR extension. If I'm reading the rules correctly for FLR I think it would be touch and go whether we would meet the financial requirements anyway. In section 3 of the FLR (O) form where you have to put the reason for applying would...

FLR (O) or FLR (M)

Hi My wife came to the UK in 2009 on a spouse visa ( I'm British) when that was about to expire she was going to apply for ILR but failed her Life In The UK test a couple of times so was unable to apply for that, and with time running out on her original visa she didn't have time to book herself on ...

Travelling on residence permit

Hello My wife's current residence permit will expire 22 July 2015 and we were wondering does she need to have a certain amount of time left on it to be able to travel outside of the country (UK) We are taking a holiday in Portugal in February and to apply for the Schengan Visa she needed to have 3 m...

Hi

It doesn't say family member of EEA national on my wife's permit so she needs to get the Shengen. Probably get all the documents together then to be on the safe side although she only has 1 month bank statement.
Thanks

@Elisha47 That's exactly what happened with my wife. Because they were so long in deciding her application they asked for more/up to date documents. After she sent them she was granted FLR just a week later! Don't worry about the English requirement, my wife didn't have that either. Just explain why...

She got her further leave to remain yes, but instead of the old style stamped visa in the passport she has to apply for a Biometric Residence Permit. She sent this off a couple of weeks ago so she just has to wait now until they tell her to get her Biometrics done, then she will be issued with the c...

I'm sorry to hear you have withdrawn your application Elisha, I know you have been waiting a long time (the same as my wife 13 months) so I know how you feel. Sometimes we debated as to if we should go back to my wife's homeland. I'm sure your leave to remain may have been coming soon but I can unde...

@Elisha47 As you know it took my wife 13 months to get her extension(new application) based on the fact that i'm British and so is our child. Your timeline is about the same now so fingers crossed you will hear something this month or early March... My wife has sent her application off a couple of w...

@justice. It didn't actually say on the letter what type of visa it is. Just that she has been granted further leave to remain. I'm assuming it's gonna be some kind if family residence permit (i'll have to look into it). For how long it will be vaild for I don't know. Good luck with your's.
