Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

"If you are unable to provide your passport explain why on page 22 and supply letters from employers (including start and finish dates), payslips, P60s... Looks like we might have to delay this slightly then to have enough evidence. We only have what we used for the ILR application which is 2.5 yea...

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

3. For Non-EEA nationals, their passports act as proof of residence in the UK. It’ll have entry and exit stamps when travelling abroad. Only EEA nationals need to provide additional residence evidence because their passports aren’t stamped within the EEA countries. 4. Refer to HO guidance on openin...

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

Just stumbled on this as we are looking to apply for nationality for my wife. She got ILR back in October but hasn't progressed it since then, we were surprised to see a new service live! A few questions: Are we right in thinking she doesn't have to send off her passport while they make the decision...

Health Surcharge

I'm hoping someone on here can clear up a few things about this new health surcharge as the official site is less than useless in our circumstances. My wife is about 18 months in to the first half of her spouse visa. Originally I didn't think they could change the rules part-way through the visa pro...

Oh, also, while I think of it, do I need anything from my current employer? Other than my contract, do I need a letter confirming I'm employed there? There is space on the form for employer details so I wonder if they will just contact them direct?

Thanks. Do you think a certified copy of the P60 would be acceptable? I need the original for my accounts for the self employment and you can't get copies. If the documents go missing it could be a big problem for me.

Any idea on the approximate costs of getting documentation certified?

How to supply sponsor's documents

My fiancee will be applying for her visa to come over to the uk in the near future and we are in the process of getting everything we need together. One thing I was wondering, do I need to send my documents to her, and if so, do I need to supply originals or are copies / scans acceptable? I understa...

I'm a UK national, born and raised here. Can you please give me some idea how the point system works and what to be looking for? I don't understand it at all... Would it work for her to come here for 6 months, see how things go, leave again and come back at a later date? How soon could she come back...

Newbie questions on immigration...

These might sound like simple questions but I've spend the last few hours on the UK Border Agency website and I must admit I'm no wiser than when I started! I have a friend who is originally from Taiwan but did a PhD in the UK, finishing about 6 months ago. She was intending to stay for the full 2 y...
