Marriage gone wrong

I posted a few months back to say that my marriage to my American wife went wrong and that i had informed UKBA of this. Well they did contact me via post. I had some forms to sign to say that we are no longer living together as husband and wife. My wife was sent paperwork from them to say VISA has b...

Thanks, it would be nice if UKBA would at least acknowledge that they are aware of the situation and have paperwork i sent them. Nor can i speak to them direct, just the general enquires line.

Lost Passport/Visa

My wife has lost her passport with her two year right to remain visa attached. At present we are both in the UK, and she will ahve to apply for a new passport here at the US Embassy. My question is will we have to re-apply for the VISA paying the £400-£500 cost and going through that whole process...

Spouse Visa approved - one last question.

Yes VISA granted on Friday, so now booking flight home to England. I know that my wife overstayed the tourist visa she was on before by about 30 days, so i have worries that even though VISA was granted, can immigration at Heathrow airport stop her from entering because of this rule breach? Do they ...

Thanks for that, but were we right to expect an email for confirmation? Is that the norm, or do they phone to say 'hey all is fine come in and collect your visa'?

Is a phone call a good or bad thing?

My wife applied for a Spousal Visa back at the end of August. The consulate in Chicago has tried to contact her via phone, but she was away visiting relatives so didn't realisie this. My wife was expecting an email to confirm approval, but we are now worried that a telephone call may mean something ...

Hi Emilyjustmarried, my name is Chris. Where in the US are you applying from? The reason for this, is that my wife has only just applied for Spousal Visa in Chicago. So is it there that 12 week waiting time is, or are you applying at LA or New York? We thought it would only take about 20 days or so,...

Passport not certified - Spousal Visa

Wife has gone back to the States to apply for the above Visa. Have just realised that the photocopy of my passport wasn't certified(didn't realise you needed it done, until i looked a previously posted message). Will she be able to go through without this, or is it something i need to get done and s...

Thank you, but an immigration lawyer has indicated that the 28 days after your VISA has expired is called a 'Grace Period' and that you will not be punished if you return home within this time? Is this correct as i see nothing on UKBA website? Thanks again.

Temporary tourist visa extension.

Is it true that you are granted a 28 day extension to a tourist visa? My wife was told that yesterday? At present my wife's visa ran out about a week ago, but has doctors note to say that due to test results waiting she isn't allowed to fly. These results could be made available in the next few days...

Well i thought the last question was the last, but i have one more. Say we did the online application and paid the fee today, how long would the process take approx before my wife was able to have the interview at the Consulate? I hear things like 12 weeks or so from Worldbridge/UK Border Agency. Th...

Thank you again - one final question. My wife has asked me to ask, is there any way that she wouldn't have to go back to the states and re-apply. Is there a way to change the tourist visa into a spousal one here in the UK? Thank you.

Thank you for that - now another question. My wife was told by an American friend of hers living nearby, that if we re-marry here in England it will speed the process of application of Spousal Visa up. We are still married and were married in the States. Thanks again.

Spouse Visa - do i need to go to the Consulate?

My American wife moved over here back in 2005, but didn't settle and left and moved back to the States in 2006. So it's now 2009 and her original 2 year Visa has expired and has spent the last 6 months here on tourist visa. With this expiring at the end of the month, she is looking to go back and re...
