Supporting Documents for the Biometric appointment?

Hi all, I am applying for an UK spouse visa from the USA. My biometrics appointment is tomorrow. I am not confused if I need to carry supporting documents for that. While I was booking the appointment I saw this –‘ You must bring your APPOINTMENT BOOKING CONFIRMATION NOTICE and your PASSPORT with yo...

Re: Uk Spouse Visa: Term deposits for Cash savings

Please refer to Annex FM Section FM 1.7: Financial Requirement, Page 41. My understanding is - if you are going by the saving route, you won't have to talk about your income. UKBA will be fine with that. However, you will have to show that the required amount of money is in your account, untouched, ...

Uk Spouse Visa: Term deposits for Cash savings

Hi all, My spouse is an UK citizen and I am applying for a spouse visa from the USA (I am an Indian). She works as a sole director of a limited company. We are not showing her income as it requires lot of documentation. We are planning to go on the saving route instead. I have equivalent of 60500 UK...

English Language requirement with a PhD degree from the UK

My spouse is a UK citizen. I am applying for a spouse visa. I have a masters as well as a PhD degree from a top school in the UK. Will it count towards the English language requirement? If yes, can I just submit copies of my degrees or shall I also have to get some sort of certificate from the UK NA...

Your post is well meaning. Thank you. Yes, ideally I should have got the passports from the UK itself. However, I have moved out of the country and hence I had to apply for the passport / replacement certificates from abroad. I agree it was a mistake to laminate the certificates, obvious I did not k...

I saw some credit card activity in my account 2 days ago. However, only 94 pound is debited. I had applied for both my kids and was expecting them to charge 94 each. I had sent both the applications in a single envelope. Should I be concerned. Is it possible that they might not have seen one applica...

Thank you. Not true. As soon as someone gains a foreign citizenship, they automatically loose their Indian Citizenship. Indian citizenship act 1955 is very clear about this. This renounce-the-Indian-citizenship procedure is to record that someone has gained foreign citizenship. Otherwise Indian auth...

Hi all,

I had sent my replacement certificate request to

Home Office
PO Box 306
Dept 102
Liverpool
L2 0QN

They do not have any information on the processing time in their website. Can anybody tell me how can I contact them? Is there a phone number?

Thanks

Many thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I am waiting for somebody to get back to me on my original question (i.e. how long does it take to get a replacement certificate). Or was it only me who thought laminating the registration certificate is a great idea :( Until you formally renounce your citize...

Thanks, ban.s. Unfortunately it is going to be beyond three months. I guess I can still travel beyond 3 months and pay a fine while applying for an OCI. However, I am concerned that it may amount to some sort of fraud / criminal offense. You have to write your citizenship on the landing card in Indi...

Duplicate registration certificate

Hi all, I moved to the USA recently and just before I left I had applied for registration for both my kids. One of my friends sent the certificate to me here. I then applied for the British passports here in the USA. The mistake I committed was I laminated the certificates. Now the Regional British ...

Hi Jambo, I am sorry. My post was not clear. Yes, I would like to keep Indian passports for the kids for the time being. I anticipate I may have to stay in India for a while and I am concerned that British citizen children may face some problems there in terms of school admission and tuition fees. H...

Yes. Hi Jambo and others, I am a naturalized UK citizen. I have two kids (3 years and 6 years), both are born in the UK prior to my obtaining ILR. They have Indian passports now (currently on dependent visas) and I need to register them for British citizenship. I plan to travel to India for a few y...
