I currently have a Stamp 1G, Spouse of critical skills work permit and initially, I had Stamp 3 for one year. Re: E vetting and citizenship application

Hi everyone,

I received the e-vetting form two weeks ago (around 7 working days ago). Filled out and posted the form the same day but I haven't received the e-vetting email yet.

Is this expected? How can I follow up?

Thank you

Re: Contractor with Stamp 1G

If she is *employed* by the umbrella company, that is fine. This means, the umbrella company is the contractor and the umbrella company invoices her actual company for any work she has done for the actual company. It essentially means, the umbrella company is paying her salaries, not the actual com...

Re: Contractor with Stamp 1G

Reviewing my emails with the accounting company again, this is the exact reply I got from them regarding Stamp 1G and self-employment: Under the Umbrella Company Employee option all your taxes would be deducted through the PAYE system, and as an employee of the company you would not be considered to...

Re: Contractor with Stamp 1G

Yeah, what "self-employment" means in this context is not very well defined.

Re: Contractor with Stamp 1G

The PRSI Class does not directly relate to a person's immigration status. In fact, Revenue seldom talks to INIS. As long as Revenue can collect taxes, in most cases they don't really keep a close eye on a person's immigration status. PRSI Class A *usually* covers most of employees, directly employe...

The conditions of your stamp are very clear: you cannot work unless you hold an employment permit for that occupation.
Does this also apply if the employer is not Irish? i.e a YouTube channel

Re: Side income on Stamp 1

quick question about the periodic tax investigation that you mentioned earlier: do you have any idea how it works and how far do they go back when they want to investigate that (e.g. a year, two years)? When you open a bank account anywhere in the EU, you need to provide tax and residence details. ...

Re: Side income on Stamp 1

Your Irish work permission does not restrict you from working for any company outside of Ireland. If you receive money from any foreign company, you're not breaking the conditions of your Irish work permission. No I don't think so. Unless you end up on the list of tax defaulters there will be no is...

Re: Side income on Stamp 1

No, it's not against the rules. Your Irish bank account can be used to received money from any sources, not only from your employer. Another concern is that this income can be investigated by Revenue (all banks in EU periodically report this to the local tax authorities) and this may come back to y...
