Children of naturalised UK citizens

Good evening, If one is a naturalised UK citizen (born abroad) and has kids born abroad AFTER she/he naturalised as a UK citizen, will these kids be automatically UK citizens? My understanding is YES, as the naturalised UK citizen isn't a citizen by descent, and therefore he/she can pass his/her cit...

Foreign passports for UK passport renewal/1 week fast track option

Good evening, I have three questions: - Naturalised UK citizens need to submit their certificate of naturalisation and their foreign passport(s) when applying for their first UK passport. Do they need to provide their foreign passport(s) when applying for renewal of their UK passport as well, assumi...

Child born abroad to a (naturalised) British citizen

Good evening I would like to ask whether a child who is born abroad to a naturalised British citizen is British citizen at birth. I was born abroad and I naturalised British. I know that British citizenship passes only one generation by descent. Would my child be a British citizen at birth even if b...

Re: Observations on the first UK passport

It is not my passport. I've asked for an acquaintance of mine. I also think that is the issue.
Thank you so much.

Observations on the first UK passport

Hello, Has anyone ever seen such a note on a British passport? I've read about countless of people who applied for their first UK passport after naturalisation using their foreign passport. However, this is the first time I have seen someone getting official observations on their UK passport with th...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony in Edinburgh

Hi, I'm in the same process and have waited over the 10 day response period with no luck. Please keep me updated if you hear back at all, kind of relying on this ceremony happening soon as possible! Hello I waited for a week and then called. They had somehow forgot to send me an invitation. That is...

Travel on EU passport after naturalisation

Hello, Is it possible for someone who has naturalised British to travel on their EU passport if they haven't received their British passport yet? My assumption is yes as EU citizens don't require a visa to travel to the UK and airlines don't check pre-settled or settled status. Could you please conf...

Citizenship Ceremony in Edinburgh

Hello, Has anyone had their citizenship ceremony here in Edinburgh recently? How long does it take for the Council to reply after the applicant has sent their ceremony booking form completed by email? I've noticed it's only possible to leave a message on the voicemail. There is no nobody picking up ...

Unmarried partner

Hello, I am currently married to a non-EU citizen living outside the UK. We got married only later last year. As of 31.12.2020, we had been in a relationship for more than two years. According to some forums, in order to obtain the EUSS for a person who was the unmarried partner before 31.12.2020, i...

Re: Email confirming successful application for naturalisation

Good evening, I applied for naturalisation in December. I am wondering what happens if the applicant doesn't receive the confirmation email that the application has been successful. Let's say the email was sent but not received. Will the HO send a letter? Emails can get lost or end up in spam, and ...

Re: British citizenship requirement

Item 1 and 2 are the same, it's your passport - not sure why they have this requirement. I believe when you hit "submit" for your documents they are submitted and you can't add anything else after that - others may comment further on this aspect. It seems I am not obliged to submit the documents. I...

Re: British citizenship requirement

Use English. . Thank you for this. I have some final questions as I want to apply next week. The form is ready and I have all the documents: - I was away from 1 to 6 December 2016. When can I apply for naturalisation? On Dec 7, 2021? I think it should be Dec 8 - unless you returned on Dec 6 2016 - ...
