What documents to carry when entering uk on spouse visa?

Hi

My wife will shortly be entering the UK on an indirect flight from India on a spouse visa.

My question is what documents should she carry with her in case she is stopped and questioned? eg marriage certificate etc.

Can anyone offer any insight?

Much appreciated.

Just an update to the situation.

My wife collected her passport from the embassy and has been granted the spouse visa.

I would like to take this opportunity in the help this board provided.

The process can potentially be a nightmare if things don't go according to plan.

Thanks.

Spouse Visa One-way ticket or return ticket

Hi

I believe this topic has not been discussed clearly on doing a search on the forums.

In the event of a spouse visa being granted is it better to fly into the UK on a one way ticket or a return ticket?

Thanks in advance.

This is the part I am dreading reading these forums as depending on who you get the eco can be quite harsh. Our's is a weak case as I am temping at the moment, not ...

3rd Party Support & Accommodation

I am hoping this question has not been asked before so here goes: In the AM V Ethiopa case does that also mean: When it comes to accommodation does the sponsor now have to own the home in which the spouse is coming to reside in? Or is it OK as before if the sponsor's parent(s) own the property and w...

Thank you Shaf for being upfront with your answer. My wife is 11-12 years younger than myself and it was an arranged marriage. We fell in love after we met. One point that seems to occur to me and it may be a silly question is how does the ECO verify the answers the wife gives about hobbies etc if h...

Out of interest did you apply online or did you do complete a hard copy of the application form?

I have heard of the vfs site but can't seem to find a working link for it. Do you care to post a link to that site?

Thanks

Sorry I should have been clearer ( had a tiring day).

I meant as above 28 days from the date of issue of the visa. That's why if there is a large different between date of issue of visa and date of entry into the UK then you may get caught out and have to apply for FLR.

Is that correct?

My understanding is it is 28 days from the date that is stamped on the passport (ie Visa) as was initially said above. Why do people like to confuse others?

I think I can answer my own question after doing a search:

Any documents outstanding from the original application will be detailed in the letter and anything else they wish to see originals of?

Is that correct?

Just need to clarify.

An immigration solicitor stated a certified copy means ALL pages being certified by them even if blank. Pointless I know but a good photocopy MAY show the pages numbers as diagrammed in on the passport pages.

Anyone?

I forgot to add another solicitor said that I don't need to have a house survey done. Hence why I am asking this board whether that is true.

ie Do you need to have a house survey done to demonstrate there is no overcrowding for example?

Sorry about the news.

I am not one for knocking organisations but the IAS told me that I only need 3 months worth of wage slips/bank statements.

The quality of advice does indeed vary from solicitor to solicitor.

Spouse Visa - Age Difference

Like most people I waited before getting married and delayed it. Having gotten married to an India citizen the age difference is 11 years and I am 35. Hi

Does anyone know whether it makes any difference in the UK application whether your parents and the rest of the family were unable to make the marriage ceremony due to full bookings on all airlines at the time?

Thanks for any input.
