Re: Long Residence - Contradicting rules and guidance wording

Thanks for your reply Zimba. So I can interpret this in 2 ways: 1) As I came to the UK in 2010, my original 10 year period was completed in 2020, so would this mean the 548 day limit would apply in any application I make, even if I use a different qualifying period that extends beyond 11 April 2024?...

Long Residence - Contradicting rules and guidance wording

Hello everyone, So my situation is as follows - Been here since 2010, but wasn't able to apply for SET(LR) due to excessive absences so have to stay longer to reduce the absences. Under the old rules, I would have been eligible for SET(LR) in September 2024 (this year), however with the rule changes...

Re: Self Employment and Director registration

Hi marcnath, if I pay myself all my income from the company through PAYE, and have no other source of taxable income, does one still have to register for Self assessment? As HO's requirements is either registered as Self-employed with HMRC or a company director, but HMRC says you only have to regist...

Self Employment and Director registration

Hi All, I was granted T1E about a month ago from my switch from T1GE, which means that I'm already a company director. From the Home Office staff guidance for the extension criteria, it says: The applicant must have registered with: • HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) as self-employed • Companies House as...

Re: T1GE to T1E switch after 29th March

I am submitting the business plan as it is in the requirements. However, with the application not being subjected to the genuine entrepreneur test, am I correct in thinking that they can not reject on the basis of credibility, etc? As the application is points-based.

Re: Switch from T1 GE to T1E 50K route

You can actually switch into T1E from T1 Grad Ent until 2021. This applies even if you switch from T1GE into Start-up for your second year. So T1E will only be open for initial applications for Graduate Entrepreneur visa holders from 6 April. From the Statement of Changes: 6A.11 After paragraph 245D...

Graduate Entrepreneur to T1E Closing date

Hi all, Following the recent changes to the Tier 1 and Startup visas, I wanted to clarify the closing date of applications to switch from T1GE to T1E. On the HO Explanatory Memo, it states: 7.14 Further transitional arrangements are being applied to mitigate the impact of the changes on those alread...

T1GE extension UKVCAS

Hi all, Made an application for the T1GE extension on the 15th December, and the appointment attended on the 17th December 2018. However, I haven't received any correspondence or confirmation from the HO at all since applying. Is this normal? I'm starting to get worried that they haven't received it...

Re: Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur visa worries

Hi, I too applied for a T1 GE initial visa outside the UK on the 3rd Jan. Was quoted 15 working days, and still waiting. With regards to your question, the success rate for T1 GE is over 95%, as per a report in 2015. If you were endorsed by a HEI it could take up to 8 weeks to get the visa processed...

Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur out of country times?

Hi all, I have applied for my initial Tier 1 GE visa from Bangkok on the 3rd of January. The thing that I'm confused about is that out of country non-settlement applications should normally take 15 working days to process (as also mentioned by VFS when I applied). However, as today is the 15th worki...
