UK Citizenship - relation of referees

Hello, I'm planning to apply for UK citizenship in the next month, and am thinking about who to ask to be my referee. I know a lot of people (lectures) at a university where I used to work. However, I'm confused by the requirement "referees must not be related". Does this mean that the referees must...

Did your employer refund your ILR costs?

Hi all,

Is it common for employers to refund the basic ILR or Tier 2 visa fees?

Thanks

Proof of language knowledge for ILR

Hello all, I have a bachelor degree from a UK university, but the qualification was not thought in the UK or a majority English speaking country. It's one of these universities that offer double degrees. For my previous Tier 2 applications, I always used this degree as a proof of my English language...

Employment Letter

Hello all, I have applied for an ILR appointment, but am unsure about the completeness of my employment letter for the following reasons: 1) The letter provides the SOC code and the annual salary rate, but there is no statement that the salary is "at or above the appropriate rate for the job as stat...

Re: Absence letter from previous employeer

I hope so. In the system used by my previous employer, they don't record absences in detail (aside from dates and perhaps purposes). Would be good to have templates of absence letters from successful ILR applications.

Absence letter from previous employeer

Hello, I am about to apply for ILR next month via the Tier 2 route. This question concerns the details that need to be included in the letter from the previous employer. My previous employer has provided me with a letter that states that I was employed full-time from date X to date Y at a given role...

Re: Tier 2- secondary employment

Thanks for your reply. Indeed, I cannot apply for a supplementary job as the new job is not in the same profession (although with the same COS), and it would be for more than 20 hours. According to the guidelines, I would need to apply for secondary employment. However, nothing is mentioned about wo...

Tier 2- secondary employment

Hello All, I have just received a job offer from a company allowing a very flexible work contract, but I would still like to maintain a link with my current employer in academia (if possible) where I work as a full-time research assistant. Therefore, I would like to work for the new employer, while ...

I don't know how exactly they did it. It must be possible to amend the fields or make notes.
Good luck :)

Thanks Prem! He can show a monthly proof of income of around 550 GBP. Is this enough to be eligible for a family visit visa?

Visitor visa for my father - what are the chances?

Hello, My father is thinking to apply for a visit visa to visit me in UK for a month. However, I'm not completely convinced that he would be able to obtain the visa, and hence would appreciate your opinion on this. My father is retired and self-employed. He has around 25,000 GBP on his company's acc...

Can I exit UK while waiting for BRP?

Hi,

I'm in the process of changing jobs and waiting for my new BRP to arrive (expected time is within 7 to 10 rowking days). However, I still work for my old employer (until 4th January) and have a Tier 2 visa. Is it safe to make any travel arrangements for Xmas, before recieving BRP?

Thanks

Re: Advice for notice period (changing employers under Tier

My new employer has now informed me that the starting date on the CoS has been changed to match the starting date of my work (first week of January).

Even though I am still waiting to recieve the BRP (which has been approved btw), is it now safe to send a notice letter to my current employer?

Thanks

Re: Advice for notice period (changing employers under Tier

Thanks kamren548. I will request from my employer to try and change the CoS date asap. This seems as the only way out of this situation, especially if the BRP card still has not been printed.

And one last question, I promise :)

Is it possible to change the CoS date now, when the work permit has been approved?

Re: Advice for notice period (changing employers under Tier

@sushdmehta: I see... I really have not known that it is possible to change the CoS date. However, it now does not make much sense why they approved my application in the first place. The CoS date was not amended, i.e., the date of the appointement is later than the CoS date. And, I'm obviously stil...

Re: Advice for notice period (changing employers under Tier

Ok, so this basically means that, according to the regulations: I'm not allowed to work for my current employer because of the early date of the new CoS. This is not my fault, nor the fault of my new employer, because we couldn't have predicted that the earliest appointement at the premium center wo...

Re: Advice for notice period (changing employers under Tier

Thank you very much. This clarifies the whole situation. The only document I have is a letter from the immigration office that the ...

Re: Advice for notice period (changing employers under Tier

Thanks CR001 :)

The start date of my CoS is the 7th December. My new employer advices that I start work on the 4th January. Should the notice period for my current employer then be the 3th January?

Cannot find form for Tier 2 extension (premium service)

Hello, I am trying to book a Premium Service appointment to extend the Tier 2 General visa. When i logg in (https://apply.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk) to my account the first question is "Which application form are you using to make your application?*" However, there does not seem to be an appropriate fo...
