Re: Spouse visa extension

Thank you TickTack. Can anyone else weigh in regarding my initial post about the financial requirement. The employer will provide a letter to explain the temporary decrease in income for the last 2 months. And they will confirm that my husband ordinarily works 40+ hours and earns on average £1660. T...

Re: Spouse visa extension

About the bank statements, when I asked Barclays for original statements they said the online PDF ones are now the same. I mentiond we need them for a visa application and they said the Home Office will accept these. I'm taking their word for it but the guidelines say electronic statements should be...

Re: Spouse visa extension

Thank you for your input. I hope you are right. The 10 year route is not ideal but its better than a refusal. My husband's had this job for 2 years now, so its a stable, permanent job.

Re: Spouse visa extension

Thank you CR001 and AmazonianX After reading and re-reading the Appendix FM guidance I'm unsure if we meet the financial requirement now. However since the visa is due to expire next month we had no choice but to submit the application. My husband's usual pay meets the minimum threshold because he e...

Re: Spouse visa extension

There's a question in the application about how my husband entered the UK. One says illegally the other says "I was granted temporary admission or bail at the UK border" and then there's an option for "other". I'm thinking the second one applies in this case?

Re: Spouse visa extension

Correct. But key question, when did he enter the UK on a spouse visa? Or if he switched within the UK, what date was it valid from? What you do not want to do is apply too early and end up with a shortfall later for ILR. He entered the UK in July 2021. If we submit the application this week, he wil...

Spouse visa extension

Hi everyone, I'm returning to this forum after 3 years. Thanks to the information and advice found here I was able to successfully submit my husband's first spouse visa application by myself. It's now time for the extension. Below are a number of issues I'm concerned about: According to the BRP the ...

Re: Spouse Visa (self submitting)

Hi, Praying that you guys get a good news soon! I read on your post on the timeline thread that you were told that the case was not straightforward. Could you tell me what issues they had in particular? Did they ask you specifically regarding these concerns on the call or was it more general questi...

No decision 90 days

Biometrics were on 23rd Jan. Today marks 90 WD or 17 weeks. I have emailed and called them, escalated the case, with generic responses and apologies. Any advice on what to do? Do I carry on waiting or is there anything I could possibly do to make them respond. My case is not complex at all. I have n...

Re: Pakistan to Uk-travel route options after turkey in the red list

That's what I would've assumed too. But if you see http://www.gibraltarborder.gi/visa here it says though Pakistani nationals usually require visas for entry there are certain exemptions. This is one of the three exemptions mentioned: Persons holding EU issued family permits, UK Residence Permits is...

Re: Spouse Visa (self submitting)

I emailed them a week ago and they usually respond within 2 days. But it's been over 7 days and I didn't get a reply. They charge around £2.75 for an email and then they just ignore it! Is there no way to complain about this horrendous service?! Anyway, having given them ample time I finally called ...

Re: Pakistan to Uk-travel route options after turkey in the red list

I'm also thinking about this. Portugal, Gibraltar, Iceland and the Faroe Islands are the only European countries on the green list. But I imagine getting a visit visa for Pakistani nationals will be difficult. Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory, so since British nationals are allowed to visit...

Should I email UKVI?

I received a call from the Home Office on the 20th April, for an interview, this was 62 working days. Now it's been 67 working days and I'm tempted to email them.

Is there any point in doing so or should I just continue waiting?

Calls from Home Office

Hi a question for anyone who has applied for a Spouse Visa from Pakistan recently.

Those who were contacted by the Home Office could you share what questions they asked you. I know its regarding employment but more detail would be appreciated thanks.

Re: Career path for spouse

Thanks for replying. I didn't think it had to be immigration related because this is the employment board. We are still at the stage of exploring career options. Trying to avoid a low-paying 9-5 job and instead work on building up a small business. It all depends on how much time training will take....
