Passport interview could'nt answer 2 questions

I could'nt answer my mom and dad's date of birth. I answered I don't remember. This post suggests something about the interviewer mentioning something about what happens next. But I was'nt told anything of that sort, for example "you should receive the passport in the next x days ". Hopefully it is ...

Hi,

Of the many questions in the interview 2 of them were my mom and dad date of birth. I answered I don't remember them as I really don't remember.

Will that be a problem?

Thanks.

Travelling with Indian Passport after Naturalisation

Hi, I have recently got the citizenship certificate. The next step is for me to apply for British Passport and then hand over Indian passport and get the OCI card. However, I will be travelling to India in 4 to 6 weeks time and as you can guess the above can't be completed by then. Is it ok to go to...

New born eligible for British passport, but ...

hi, My child is eligible for British passport on the grounds that I am PR(ILR) at the time of her birth. However, since I have plans of leaving this country in a couple of years or so, can I now apply for an Indian passport and still have the flexibility to change it to a british passport if the chi...

ILR in person + no available appointment in entire UK

I have just tried to get an in person appointment for ILR over the internet. I have tried for a date with all available offices (7) in UK and none of them have an appointment in 2009. There are no dates shown for 2010. So what options have we got. It is a bit surprising there is no appointment in an...

ILR after after 4 years + apply 1 month late

I am eligible to apply for ILR after 4 years, however I have my visa valid for 5 years (ie., 1 year more after I become eligible for ILR). I am travelling abroad for a month at around the same time as when I complete my 4 years. Since there is no guarentee on the timelines of ILR application, I want...

plan to shift to contract, what if jobless while applying ILR

I have read in various posts that it is either better (or even mandatory) that one should have a job while applying for ILR. I am due for ILR(4 years) in 6 months time and I am now planning to jump to contracting from my perm position. What this means is in next 6 months anything can happen, job les...

MrBaboo, At this time with out knowing all the details, one can only comment. But atleast there is some good news in the bad news. well, from these announcements, the last thing I want to worry is about whether an agency or company will be baised. I think as always all they look for is whether you have the right to work in UK, and ofcourse they may ask you to show the relevant evidence etc., But the more important concern shoul...

Well, I just hope all these changes wont be applied retrospectively. But at least it is a known fact that Tier 1 extensions have to qualify for the rules at the time of extension. So there might be no escape here. However, regarding preventing dependents coming to UK, or preventing dependents from w...

If you get the visa, it will be issued for 3 years. You can travel any number of times to UK (for what ever reason) during those 3 years. At the end of these 3 years, you will have to apply for extension, and you need to qualify the rules for the extension based on the rules at the time of extension.

Well, unless you are covered by HSMP JR, all extensions to Tier 1 have to meet the points system at the time of extension. So, unfortunately if these rules come into effect in April and you apply in June, then you have to meet this criteria. Well, the complet details of these rules still need to cla...

I would like to invite my mother to UK on a visitor visa for a few months. My mother has never worked in the past, she is a house wife. So she does'nt have any income/assets in her name. I am wondering if this will be an issue for the visa? also, there seems to be quite a few application forms, like...

my gut feeling is, it is a perfectly valid scenario for someone to be out of work when they apply for ILR ( assuming it is perfectly valid for some one on HSMP to be out of work during their 5 year period). So based on the documentation I could find, I did'nt see anywhere mentioning that it is manda...
